Finding ways to keep my thirst for travel quenched whilst building a chiropractic practice and studying…without getting too overwhelmed.
Earlier in the year I got a bit too giddy with trying to fulfill this passion…booking far too many things in, far too close together.
And whilst I know travel is a privilege, I think my brain wrote cheques my body struggled cashing, and I ended up in a mini burn out.
But travel fills my cup. It brings me joy. And I am a big believer that we need to do things that light us up and bring us joy in order to help our nervous systems heal…but only when done in a way that doesn’t stress our nervous system more.
In my clinic, I unfortunately see patients everyday that do not do enough of the things that bring them joy (and perhaps don’t even know that that looks like anymore), and I see the impact of that on their nervous system, and their bodies (alongside other things).
I try to encourage it as best as I can, as part of their healing journey.
So I had a little break, and now I’m hoping to find the right balance again, making it more sustainable alongside work and study.
I think I’ve been fairly successful this past weekend, finding I was able to switch my brain off from reality more easily than usual…let’s see if our future travel plans fulfill that goal too.
Whilst 2.5 days isn’t quite long enough for an explorer, we definitely gave Oslo a good go.
Only a snippet of a country, but another one added to our growing list.
And another country on the list of places we’d like to return to, to fully explore… one day.
Here are a few of our Oslo highlights
