The case that started my passion for head injuries and the chronic effects they have on a person.
Aaron Hernandez NFL player found guilt of first degree murder - when you take a step back and look at his life before this you realise concussions were a major factor in his CTE, how the resulting symptoms can in fact lead a person to murder! There is a lot more to it than just this but imagine all those people out there who could be suffering from these symptoms and carry on as though it’s normal is heart breaking!
Some of the worlds most notorious serial killers have endured repetitive blunt force trauma which lead to a change in emotional behaviour post injury, Ramirez, Gacy, Berkowitz, Fish, Gein, Sutcliffe, Rader and Brady ….
It’s so important to educate yourself and others about the risks of head injuries and the psychological effects they can have long term. You don’t know how serious the consequences of playing on through the pain could be.
This is a huge passion of mine and I hope to do some good research into the effects of repetitive head trauma, CTE and contact sports during my masters degree.

Well after a rubbish 2020 I was hoping for a better 2021, unfortunately I lost my mum on 24/01/21 💔 I’ve decided to be more active on my business page and keep improving my skills so that when lockdown is over and Covid is under control we can get back to sports therapy.

Since I haven’t written about myself and why I started this business I thought the best way to do this is by doing some facts:
• My name is Charlotte Unsworth
• I am a third year student at Teesside University.
• I graduate this year (2020)
• The cute pony featured is my new little pony Ozzy, who is my daily gym workout.
• I am 20 years old
• I am definitely a cat person although I still love dogs.
• After graduating this year I will go on to do a masters in Spinal Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy.
• I work with ERDPP and Durham County junior rugby.
• I do my placement with Yarm Rugby Club and have been there for 2 seasons.
• my biggest passion within Sports Therapy is to reduce the amount of severe spinal injuries in male rugby players.
• I also have qualifications in Gym Instructor, First aid, PHISIS massage therapy and rehabilitation in sport.
