Strength doesn’t always feel loud or confident - sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and about still moving forward even on difficult days.

Sometimes we can forget our own resilience in the middle of stress or struggle, but it’s within you.

If you’re finding things hard right now, please remember you don’t have to navigate it alone. You’re stronger than you realise, and support is always within reach. 🤍

Received some beautiful flowers and chocolates off a client today for a mix of my birthday (was Tuesday) and a huge thank you for the support in their counselling. Very grateful for them and the gifts!

This literally made my day after feeling like I’m drowning in the busy lead up towards Christmas.

Anybody else feeling the same?

Sometimes the only peace we get is from focusing on what we can control, especially when things outside of that feel out of control.

My words, my effort, my reactions, me being prepared, my circle of friends - that’s on me.

How people behave or interpret things? That’s on them and we can’t control that.

Learning to let go of the lack of external control is where freedom begins. 🤍

Negative self talk..

We all fall into patterns of negative self talk, catastrophizing, harsh self-criticism, “should-haves,” and assumptions about what others think.

Noticing these patterns is the first step toward changing them. The image below shows some common patterns that we can fall into.

Next time you find yourself negative thinking, pause and ask yourself:

- Is this true?
- Is this kind?
- Is this helpful?

You deserve to speak to yourself with the same compassion you offer others. 🤍

I’ve had such a busy day both at school counselling and counselling here in my private practice, which I am very grateful for.

Whilst closing up this evening, I realised I haven’t shared any pics of my new office that I have been in for a little while now.

My amazingggggg dad has built me a garden room, fully insulated and heated. It’s honestly like having an extension from my house, it’s huge! (Pic is a small part of it). For the past few months we have worked tirelessly on this and it’s far better than I ever expected it to be.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever have this for myself and my little business. I just can’t not wait for the summer months to be able to open my doors and overlook my garden, whilst working with so many wonderful clients.

By dreaming, believing, working hard and achieving means you can be anything! 🤍

Today on International Men’s Day, we recognise the importance of men’s mental health and well-being.

It’s a reminder that strength includes openness, vulnerability, and seeking support when needed.

Let’s continue encouraging healthy conversations, challenging stigma, and creating safe spaces for men of all ages internationally. 🤍

World Prematurity Day 💜

Today is a day that sits close to my heart - not just as a mum or a counsellor, but as someone who has walked the fragile hope-filled terrifying and beautiful path of prematurity twice.

Both of my babies arrived earlier than expected, 12 weeks and 6 weeks early both by emergency c-section, before their little bodies were fully ready for the world. I remember the monitors, the quiet hum of NICU, the tiny nappies, the fragile skin, and the way my heart lived inside an incubator. I remember learning strength I didn’t know I had and breaking in ways I didn’t know were possible.

Being a mum of premature babies teaches you how powerful the smallest fighters can be. Being a counsellor reminds me daily how deeply parents carry those early days - the fear, the guilt, the gratitude, the trauma, the resilience.

To every parent who has sat beside an incubator, counting breaths and praying for grams gained - I see you. To every premature baby who fought or is still fighting - you are extraordinary. To the NICU teams who become family, thank you for giving us hope when we felt empty.

Today I honour my two little warriors and all of the parents who have walked or are walking this unexpected road.

You are stronger than you know.
Your story matters.
And you’re never alone. 💜

It’s ok to want to disconnect when life feels overwhelming and busy.

We live in a world that seems to be “go, go, go”, where we are trying to juggle everything even when we are at our limits.

We are human and we can’t always meet those expectations, yet we are expected to still do that.

Take note! It is ok to rest, disconnect, recharge and look after yourself, you are the priority! 🤍

Burnout creeps in quietly - first you’re just tired, then you feel like you are running on complete empty.

The things that once felt meaningful start to feel like obligations, and rest doesn’t seem to help anymore.

It’s your mind and body trying to protect you, asking for space to breathe and reset.

Below are a few examples of what it can look like for you in ways you may not recognise.

Sometimes you need to take the pause you need, and relieve yourself from carrying so much. 🤍

You don’t always have to say YES and you can say NO!

This “No”-vember prioritise saying no to things that you don’t need to and only say yes to things you actually want to. 🤍
