Window Painting Series #3 🪟
Ken’s Window!

One of our amazing Activity Coordinators, Nicky, has been doing ‘Window Painting’ one to ones with each of our residents in their bedrooms over the last few weeks! 🥹

We want to share some of these amazing artworks, and the amazing stories behind them, with all of you! 💭

Ken chose to have a Parachuter drawn on his window. Ken was in the Royal Parachute Regiment, and loves nothing more than reminiscing and story sharing of his time sailing through the skies! Ken often jokes ‘He was trained to fall correctly!’ 🤭🪂

His parachuter is surrounded by poppies and a rose to remind him of his beautiful late-wife, Lorna! Thank you Nicky for capturing so many beautiful memories with this piece! 🏠♥️

March has been packed full of fantastic movies in our Weekly Film Club! 🎬♥️

Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, our activities team screen planned, and surprise, film screenings in our Cinema Room!

This month we have had so many sensational female led movies to celebrate International Women’s month, as well as a St Patrick’s Day special, and a few great requests from our residents in between!

Art Club transformed an old Egg Tray into a beautiful Spring Wreath last week! 🌺🌷🌼

They each painted a series of tulip shapes, using any cut offs to create green leaves. Our ladies were so proud of their final product, and have placed it proudly on their community side table - with a dated label! 🥹

It’s amazing seeing just what our residents can create with a vision and encouragement from our Activities Team! What a fantastic use of recycled materials! ♻️✨

Happy Sunday! 👋🏻

Over the last few weeks, our residents have been enjoying tuning in to The Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s livestreams on Youtube every Sunday Morning! ⛪️

Khadija makes sure our residents get to watch wherever they’re most comfortable - whether it’s in our Cafe, their bedrooms, or even our cinema room! 🎥

What a great way for our residents to still participate in their local community service, and for them to practice their faiths individually! 🤲🏻✨

Window Painting Series #2 🪟
Bernadette’s Window!

One of our amazing Activity Coordinators, Nicky, has been doing ‘Window Painting’ one to ones with each of our residents in their bedrooms over the last few weeks! 🥹

This pretty pooch is called Jenny! When Bernadette first got Jenny, she and her family named ‘him’ Benny. Upon finding out Benny was in fact a ‘her’ the whole time, they decided to change the name to Jenny so that she would still respond to the sound of her name! 🤭🐾

Jenny keeps Bernadette company every day in her room now! Thank you Nicky for bringing her to life here at Springfield Manor! 🏠♥️

Our Rudyard Community have been working on their Hoopla and Bowling techniques with our Activities Team! 🌟

The Team transformed the dining area into a mini bowling alley, where our residents and staff took aim to knock down as many pins as possible with 2 bowling balls! 🎳

Mark and Housekeeper, Sean, are our current leaders - but it will only take one strike to beat them! 🤭

Our residents also enjoyed playing Hoopla, and had a blast doing their own Movement to Music session with Nicky - Andy finding most enjoyment from perfectly balancing cones on his head! 😆🎵

Lovely to see so our residents trying new things - with a healthy dose of competition! 🏆

In Art Club, our artist for the Month of March was Japanese Contemporary Artist, Yayoi Kusama! 🇯🇵👩🏻‍🎨🎨✨

Kusama works across a wide range of media, including sculpture and painting, and is most notable for her use of repeated patterns - particularly Polka Dots!

Her Polka Dot Pumpkins are one of her most recognisable works, and our Art Club Attendees were challenged to adopt her use of patterns to design an artwork entirely of patterns - no block colours! 🎃⚫️

Our residents filled different shaped templates with bright patterns, bringing them to life in a contemporary style! We have spotty pumpkins and apples, swirling pears and some beautifully intricate flowers! 🍐🍎🌸

Well done to all of our Art Club atttendees on another successful session - and a beautiful new window display! You’re all amazing artists! 🌟

We welcomed the wonderful Melanie Baines back to Springfield Manor last week for her first performance of 2026! 🎙️🌟🎶

Melanie has become a firm favourite amongst our residents, always singing a fantastic set of songs from their favourite eras, and always making time for one-to-one chats and magical moments! 🎵

Elizabeth was up on the mic, and our staff made sure that each of our residents got to share a dance with them! Everyone created such a joyous atmosphere for our residents to have fun together - and bust out their best moves! 🕺🏻

Thank you all for another fabulous afternoon of singing, dancing and laughing together! ♥️✨

Win our Easter Raffle! 🐰🌼

Our Activities Team have put together 2 Easter Goodie Baskets for 2 lucky winners to win in time for Easter! 🐣🍫🐑✨

The Goodie Baskets will be set up on our Reception Desk from Monday 23rd of March, to 12pm on Good Friday, Friday 3rd of April! Our 2 winners will be contacted on the Friday afternoon! 🏆

Raffle tickets are £2, and all money raised will be added to our resident’s Activity Fund! 🎟️

Good morning! 👋🏻

Our new Activity Rota for the end of March and Early April is here, with lots of fun and exciting activities for our residents and relatives to get involved with, including:

⚽️ Our New Saturday Men’s Club, hosted each Saturday morning with Khadija in our Pub and Cafe!

🐣 Easter week is packed full of themed activities for each of our Clubs, as well as an Easter-themed quiz!

💅🏻 Our Manicurist Hayley will be with us on Friday 3rd of April! Please email our Reception desk to book in!

🐎 Grand National week is full of horse-themed fun, ending with a Formal Dress up day for Ladies Day!

🎵 We’re excited to welcome Dionne Snary for her first performance on Tuesday 14th April, 2:30pm!

🦙 We have a visit from Knightley Alpaca Trekking on Thursday 16th April, 2-4pm!

🧶 Our next Public Knit and Natter event will be held on Friday 17th April, 10:15-12:30pm!
