With all this standing water in the fields and the slow rise in temperature, it has provided a luxury opportunity for all the midges to awaken and irritate our horses.

AlvaSweet helps soothe itching and reduces suffering caused by midges, gnats and flies. Protecting and preventing as well as providing healing and relief.This product is a great preventative and recovery treatment for horses that suffer with sweet itch and alround itchiness.When the tea tree oil is combined with our other ingredients, AlvaSweet becomes an effective insect repellent but also promotes recovery from itchiness and healthier skin. The antiseptic properties treat minor injuries caused by horse flies by boosting white cells.A spray or sponge solution, we recommend apply the product directly to the itchy area and rub into the roots of the hair.

AlvaBarrier is suitable for all breeds, colours and types of horses but why is it such a winter favourite for the feathered horses?

AlvaBarrier is a spray or sponge on product, conditioning and protecting the skin and fur, reducing the problems caused by the mud and rain.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵?
It’s not a heavy oil based product, this means that it still allows the skin to breathe and won’t clog hair follicles.
You don’t need to wash the product off after use and when baths time does come around, it’s not filled with endless scrubbing and still feeling like the oil is clinging to the coat.
In addition it helps prevent bog burn by protecting the feathers from becoming brittle.

Upon application to the hair and skin, AlvaBarrier forms a protective film on the surface while still allowing the skin to “breathe”. Oxygen, nitrogen, and other nutrients can still pass through the film. However, AlvaBarrier does not allow water to pass through, which is an ideal quality for preventing dry, dehydrated skin. Containing essential oils, such as tea tree oil to help ensure the skin does not become irritated. This product is a winter must have, especially to protect against skin conditions such as rain-scald or mud fever.

⭐️For best results, we recommend the first application to be applied on a clean coat. Apply regularly for the first week and then as often as required depending on the weather and ground conditions.🌟

Bathing in the winter can remove deep-seated mud, sweat, grease, and bacteria. Reducing the risk of rain rot, mud fever, and other infections. Removes dead skin and hair while allowing the coat to remain clean and can create a comfortable coat that maintains better insulation.
A deep, warm wash stimulates blood flow, maintains hygiene, helps manage itchy, dry skin.

AlvaHorse was established in 1995. By a Welshman called Phil Bowmen.

In 1992 Phil purchased a Welsh cob c**t called Rhystyd Dazzler. Rusty as he called him, grew into a fine horse and Phil was keen to show him off!
