Not my patient or video, sharing to increase awareness….
Accidental injection of dermal fillers into blood vessels can cause vascular compromise and occlusion….
This means blood flow gets blocked…..and can result in necrosis (death of the tissues due to lack of blood flow)…
Furthermore, blindness is a risk…

Not our work. This poor patient took 14 hours to be seen. This is an obvious example of an aggressive occlusion that had immediate obvious pallor - ideally she shouldn't have even been allowed to leave presenting this.

Bruising is normal (so don't all start panicking each time you get one!), but this patient would have suffered excruciating atypical pain (as her tissue died), blanching, violaceous discolouration and mottled reticulated vascular pattern.

Do your research - a respectable clinic won't mind asking you asking a million questions. What are they MEDICALLY qualified and accredited in? How good is their anatomical knowledge? How long have they been injecting? How often do they inject? Are they full time injectors? Have they been on any medically recognised accredited complication management courses ? Do they have an emergency protocol? Whom would you contact in the event of an emergency? How often is this checked?

If more of you asked these questions - we're certain that there would be less of them and that's all we want. The best injectors can get the occasional complication, but managing them and making you immediately safe... happens far less than you would like to believe.
