Today marks St George’s Day!

St George's Day is traditionally celebrated on 23rd of April each year, and is recognised as England’s national day on the anniversary of his death in 303 AD.

Admired for his bravery, the patron saint of England has captivated British imaginations since the Crusades and the Hundred Years' War!

Today is National Tea Day!

We are coming together on National Tea Day this year in a moment of reflection and celebration, honouring Britain’s enduring love of tea and the extraordinary legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, who would have marked her 100th centennial birthday.

A reminder of what it means to stand together through change and to find common ground in who we are. In her honour, the Empress Earl Grey has been created by the expert team behind National Tea Day. It is a tea crafted to be enjoyed and to be felt as a moment of connection, remembrance and togetherness. ☕️

(The most British Day of the year!)

This week is National Feet Week! (Taking place between the 17th-23rd of April)

National Feet Week takes place every year and asks everyone to prioritise their foot health.

Many people ignore common foot complaints or indeed serious pain rather than go to see an expert. Podiatrists are there to help with all manner of foot conditions and can usually help resolve minor issues quickly. Problems with the feet can be an indication of other health issues and so it’s so important to take care of our feet as we would our teeth and eyes.

Make National Feet Week a time to have your feet checked or to get that niggling issue sorted and make your feet your priority – after all they take you anywhere you want to go! 🦶

This month marks Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.

When diagnosed early, nine in ten people survive bowel cancer. That's why this April, to support Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, it’s so important to help raise awareness so everyone has the best chance of an early diagnosis.

Raising awareness for digestive conditions such as bowel cancer is so important and early diagnosis saves lives. Far too many people delay seeking help because of the stigma surrounding our guts. By making vital noise for our guts, we can empower everyone to know their normal and spot the signs when something isn’t right. We won’t stop talking about our guts until it becomes second nature. No one should suffer in silence or alone.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month - Bowel (Colon) Cancer Awareness Month takes place every April. At Guts UK charity, we raise vital awareness for bowel cancer. To make much-needed noise for

Today is World Health Day!

World Health Day is a global health awareness day observed on 7 April each year under the sponsorship of the World Health Organisation.

The 2026 theme is “Together for health. Stand with science,” a campaign celebrating the power of scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants, and the planet. This years campaign centres on the vital role of science and evidence based decision making in protecting and promoting global health.

World Health Day serves as a powerful reminder that access to healthcare is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. The World Health Organisations ongoing mission is to ensure that all people, regardless of where they live or their economic circumstances, can access the healthcare they need without facing financial hardship.
