Our sessions provide a safe, relaxed space for children and young people to talk about their thoughts, feelings & emotions without any pressure or judgement.

We give children the confidence and tools to recognise their emotions and build strong emotional literacy skills, which supports their mental wellbeing and personal growth.

Our sessions include using different creative tools, games, and activities so children can express themselves without the clinical feeling of formal therapy - we intentionally design the sessions to be fun, engaging, and no pressure.

Sessions are led by :
๐ŸŒณ Qualified, highly trained staff
๐ŸŒณ Insured and DBS checked
๐ŸŒณ Mental health first aid trained
๐ŸŒณ Trauma informed & Insured

We also do school workshops so if you are a member of school staff or a parent that would like us to visit your childs school, get in touch with us today for a chat about what we offer: info@magicelephant.co.uk

Using for our youth group discussion on how we have been feeling during the week.

These are a great resource and can be used in so many different ways, to facilitate discussions and allow for self expression.

For many children (and adults) opening up and sharing how they are feeling can feel difficult, even scary. It's hard being vulnerable. The remove many of the barriers, including for children who don't know what emotions they feel they are a great introduction to identifying and exploring emotions.

When we support children to talk about emotions:
- we reduce shame (something is wrong with me)
- we build connections (someone sees me)
- we calm the nervous system (naming feelings lowers the stress response)
- we prevent emotions from being suppressed and showing up as anger, withdrawal, anxiety, or control

It's essential we teach do this with children so they become adults comfortable with emotional expression and emotion communication. This helps:
- improve relationships
- regulate stress and burnout
- break generational cycles & patterns
- respond instead of react

Our youth wellbeing sessions were set up and delivered at today in partnership with and Stanwell community centre.

This session was the first of our 6 week programme for young people struggling to attend school full time.

The aims of the 6 week programme are to:
โ— Support Emotional Regulation
โ— Build confidence in a safe, supportive environment
โ— Reduce anxiety linked to school experiences
โ— Strengthen emotional awareness and expression
โ— Promote resilience and coping skills

In Surrey and the UK, emotional based school avoidance (EBSA), school refusal, and anxiety related non attendance is a growing issue.

Many children report experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, panic, or feeling unsafe or unable to cope in school.

These challenges often overlap with other needs, e.g, anxiety, autism, ADHD, sensory difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health needs.

In our session, we covered:
๐Ÿง  The nervous system - exploring fight, flight & freeze responses
๐ŸŒณ Explored thoughts and emotions using
๐Ÿ’ซ Gratitude & positive affirmations
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Meditation & Breathing techniques
๐ŸŽฏ Likes, dislikes, struggles, and advice
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ School experiences, friendships & social anxiety

We are proud to be part of early, preventative support for children and families.

Parent Feedback โœจ

Our teen online sessions are perfect for those who are not comfortable with in person sessions.

This young person was struggling in mainstream education and needed some extra support to transition back into school life, after taking a break.

We worked each week on building their confidence and resilience and worked through anxiety and anger.

Each session is child led, non judgemental and motivational.

We blend talk therapy with mindfulness, CBT and active listening which creates a safe space for the young people to open up, share how they are feeling, talk through challenges, set goals and find solutions to problems.

If you know of a child, young person or parent who is struggling with mental and emotional well-being, or needs someone to talk with get in touch today for a free 15 minute consultation to find out how we can help:

We also deliver group sessions, corporate workshops and school sessions - get in touch to discuss our bespoke services.

One of our favourite tools when working with young people is . Whenever we do a 1:1 group session or workshop for .elephant.ltd the mood cards always get such a positive response.

As a professional working with young people, these tools are so helpful for:
โ— removing barriers to exploring thoughts and feelings
โ— allowing for free flow conversation on sensitive subjects
โ— facilitating child led discussion
โ— creating a safe space for young people to share without pressure
โ— making exploring emotions fun
โ— teaching children about emotions
โ— having deeper conversations that young people don't often have the words for without the cards

For parents, these can help you explore and better understand your own emotions and how you express them. Using these with your children can help to teach healthy communication, conflict resolution, and strong emotional well-being.

Emotional wellbeing is key for:
โ— managing life's stresses
โ— having good mental health
โ— maintaining healthy relationships
โ— having strong self-esteem
โ— bouncing back from difficult situations
โ— good communication

If emotional wellbeing is not nurtured, it can lead to:
โ— anxiety
โ— depression
โ— low self-esteem
โ— irritability
โ— mood swings
โ— emotional dysregulation
โ— difficulty managing relationships

If you are a parent and would like some support with your emotional or mental well-being, we offer parent support sessions online, or for your children, you can email info@magicelephant.co.uk to book a free 15 minute consultation.

โœจ 5 easy tips to support your childโ€™s back-to-school transition โœจ

1. talk it out โ€“ make space for their feelings (excited, nervous, all of it). I know as parents we can be very busy, but it's so important to make time to be present with your children and really listen to their feelings.

2. keep routines steady โ€“ consistent sleep + meals help them feel safe. Too much disruption at home and with your emotions, can cause disruption for them at school and with their emotions.

3. connection first โ€“ even 10 mins of undistracted time with you fills their cup. This can be drawing, asking them about something they are interested in, going for a walk or to the park, even just sitting with them without any distractions.

4. name the positives โ€“ ask them what they enjoy at school. This is an opportunity to help build a positive mindset, whilst also opening up conversation that will allow them to share any worries.

5. stay present โ€“ your calm energy reassures them more than words. Sometimes our children can make us feel frustrated or we can overlook the importance of how a situation makes them feel. Staying calm and hearing what they say, without being overwhelmed yourself is key to helping children learn emotional well-being skills.

Practicing gratitude is a superpower for children ๐ŸŒฟ

Research shows that gratitude can:
๐ŸŒŸ Boost mood and resilience
๐ŸŒŸ Build self-esteem
๐ŸŒŸ Help children notice the positives, even on tough days

Thatโ€™s why we weave gratitude into our Magic Elephant Sessions โ€“ whether itโ€™s through drawing, sharing, or simply pausing to notice the beauty around us. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Gratitude helps children develop a positive mindset and tools they can carry with them for life. And as you can see, theyโ€™re pretty amazing at it already ๐Ÿ’•

Some examples the group shared at our most recent session was:
๐ŸŒฟ My home
๐ŸŒฟ My family
๐ŸŒฟ Nature
๐ŸŒฟ My friends
๐ŸŒฟ My dog
๐ŸŒฟ Gymnastics
๐ŸŒฟ Going on holiday

Half Term Fun ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฆ‹

We have enjoyed being at the community allotment during the half term; delivering mini mindfulness sessions for the children in the community.

These sessions are fun, relaxed and engaging. Children are invited to explore different breathing exercises and given the opportunity to express their feelings using and through creative activities.

Founder Shannon McBride ran the session and said "we create a safe space for children to tune into their feelings and emotions in a healthy way and begin to build a solid foundation of emotional and mental well-being - a skill for life".

We are excited for our upcoming sessions at the community allotment as well as other sessions that will be launching in the coming months.

If you would like to learn more about the group sessions or 1:1 coaching for your child please email info@magicelephant.co.uk.

10 reasons mindfulness should be taught to children๐ŸŒฑ

1. Improves Emotional Regulation
Mindfulness helps children become aware of their feelings without being overwhelmed. This builds emotional resilience and reduces impulsive reactions.

2. Reduces Anxiety and Stress
Regular mindfulness practice has been shown to lower cortisol levels, helping children manage worries, transitions, and sensory overload.

3. Supports Depression Prevention
Mindfulness trains attention to the present, breaking cycles of rumination and negative thought patterns that can lead to depression.

4. Boosts Focus and Attention
Mindfulness strengthens the prefrontal cortex, which is involved in concentration and decision-making. This can benefit both mental health and learning.

5. Improves Sleep Quality
Children who practice mindfulness often report better sleep, which is vital for emotional regulation and mental wellbeing.

6. Strengthens Self-Esteem
By learning to observe their thoughts and feelings with compassion, children build a more stable, kind relationship with themselves.

7. Encourages Healthy Coping Mechanisms
Mindfulness provides children with tools to respond rather than react to challengesโ€”helping prevent harmful coping behaviours as they grow.

8. Enhances Learning and Academic Performance
Mindfulness improves working memory, attention, and cognitive flexibilityโ€”all of which support better academic outcomes. When children are calmer and more focused, they absorb and retain information more effectively, making learning feel more enjoyable and less stressful.

9. Builds Empathy and Connection
Mindfulness fosters kindness and compassionโ€”key factors in strong peer relationships, which are essential for mental health.

10. Promotes Long-Term Resilience
Teaching mindfulness early gives children lifelong tools to manage stress, navigate emotions, and maintain mental balance.

Our sessions are run by experienced and qualified professionals, designed to be fun and relaxing - helping children to build confidence, express themselves.

During the session they will learn tools and techniques for managing stress, anger & anxiety. These are key life skills that will help support them now and in their future.

The sessions also include crafts, creative activities, time to relax and an opportunity to build friendships.

We keep the group size small to ensure it's not overwhelming for the children and this allows us to create a safe and calm environment, within the peaceful allotment surroundings ๐ŸŒณ

The feedback from parents & children has been excellent โœจ
