Reading our husbands’ signals for effective praying/intercession
Introduction:
• Reading our husband’s signals - being able to read or interpret accurately his thoughts, body language, moods, facial expressions, gestures, and feelings by how they act and behave.
• Simply, ability to feel his pulse; knowing what is happening spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
• For a Christian woman it is more than what you can see physically, but ability to pick spiritual signals from the Holy Spirit about issues pertaining to his welfare for the purpose of praying or interceding.

Topic: Reading our husbands’ signals for effective praying/intercession

Introduction:
• Reading our husband’s signals - being able to read or interpret accurately his thoughts, body language, moods, facial expressions, gestures, and feelings by how they act and behave.
• Simply, ability to feel his pulse; knowing what is happening spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
• For a Christian woman it is more than what you can see physically, but ability to pick spiritual signals from the Holy Spirit about issues pertaining to his welfare for the purpose of praying or interceding.
• 2 ways signals are obtained: Spiritually i.e., God showing outrightly and physically i.e., what you perceive from what see or hear.

Examples in scriptures
• Abigail a smart and intelligent woman.1 Sam. 25:3-36.
• Esther, a sensitive and strategic woman who harnessed the power of prayer and fasting to obtain guidance and wisdom. Esther 5 & 7

Fundamental truths to embrace
• Being a wife is a calling 1 Cor. 7:20 scriptures admonish us to abide (be faithful) in our calling.
• As a woman you have the capacity to engage in intercession for your husband. Women are intuitive, a gift from God for our assignment as watchmen. Watchmen set watch in prayers. Isa. 62:6&7
• Our helper, the Holy Spirit helps us pray with precision. He is the Holy Spirit Rom.8:26&27
Factors that affect our ability to read signals with precision include:
• Spiritual connection with our husbands
• Personal walk with God
• The age or phase of the marriage: The longer you live with a person, the better you know them; the closer you are the more precise you can predict them and consequently read them.

• Understanding your role as a wife
 “Understanding makes you outstanding”; understanding your role as a wife gives you a sense of responsibility.
 Responsibility is born out of a sense of duty and moral obligation.
 Taking responsibility for the wellbeing of your husband makes you think less of yourself.

Enhancers: Factors that will help you read signals accurately
• Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
• Sensitivity to your husband
• Attentiveness – pay attention to details, changes, and red flags
• Quality of the relationship you have with your husband – closeness and spiritual connection.
• Strength of communication in the marriage – do you watch out for each other.
Depreciators: factors that reduce ability to read signals
• Self-centeredness
• Insensitivity
• Ignorance
• Distractions e.g., wrong company, not prioritizing things appropriately
How to read your husband accurately
• Start with prayer – Ask God for help Matt.7:7
• Keep communication lines open – Ask questions
• Intentionally keep watch
• Maintain the bon fire of love in the marriage – Prov. 26:20 where there is no wood fire goes out.
• Have a scheduled time of prayer for your husband and couple your prayers with regular fasting. Matt. 17:21.

Benefits:
• Your prayers will help your husband keep on course spiritually, emotionally, professionally, and otherwise
• Your husband will always enjoy peace, progress, protection, preservation, and provisions
• You will have peace and all-round rest. When things go well with your husband you will be happy.
• You will have fulfillment in your marriage
• God will reward you as a faithful steward. 2 Chro. 15:7 Be ye strong therefore and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
Conclusion:
• Maintain a balance- don’t read meanings into things or be suspicious. Relax and be yourself.
• Be at peace with God, maintain a peaceful and quiet spirit.
• Deut. 29:29 The things for us to know will be revealed.

PRAYER POINTS
 Thanking God for giving us the gift of a husband.
1. Father, in the name of Jesus, thank you for blessing us with our husbands as a gift from You and for helping them perform their leadership roles as husbands.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

 Intercession for our husbands
1. Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for the release of new levels of divine wisdom upon our spouses that will result in promotion in the works of their hands. Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
2. Father, in the name of Jesus, grant our spouses sensitivity of heart as You keep them in the centre of your will as they lead the family in your plans and purposes. Eph 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
 Praying for ourselves
1. Father, release upon me the grace to fulfill my calling as a wife. 1 Cor. 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
2. Father, in the name of Jesus, open my eyes to see and my ears to hear to catch signals accurately for effective prayers Isa. 42:19&20 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.
