If you’re experiencing persistent bloating, would you know that it could be a sign of ovarian cancer? Chances are it's something else entirely, but it's time to visit your GP as the earlier cancer is detected the better the outcome.

Following the new GP Contract being published by NHS England for 2026/27 and this helpful summary from Healthwatch England, we would like to share how we are already working towards these 6 key points.

Our online triage system, AllianceCare, helps us understand your needs quickly. It means we can prioritise urgent requests that need a same‑day response, and it also means you don’t need to keep trying to call back the next day.

We will keep working hard to:

• Make sure you don’t need to ring back on another day
• Give urgent requests a same‑day response through AllianceCare
• Keep online requests open
• Be clear about how and when you can contact us
• Use advice and guidance to speed up your care
• Support online registration - we already offer this across the practices and the majority of our patients now register like this

We’re always looking for ways to improve, and we’ll continue to do our best for our patients.

Last week the government announced how it expects GP practices to deliver care from April 2026. Our article explains the key changes you can expect to see as a result of the new contract, why they are happening and how your feedback helped shape the changes - https://bit.ly/47bOCta

In February 2026, the feedback from our 538 patients that used (and chose to leave feedback) for our AllianceCare system, was as follows:
Excellent - 38%
Good - 45%
Poor - 11%
Bad - 5%

4 out of 5 people will be infected with HPV at some point in their lives, and it can cause six different cancers. Most people won’t have any symptoms and will never know they had it. Having HPV does not mean someone will definitely get cancer.

The HPV vaccine and cervical screening are ways of protecting yourself, see further NHS info at
