To fill in the blanks from earlier, the incident we had on the road was with an older lady tailgating us far too closely...

To fill in the blanks from earlier, the incident we had on the road was with an older lady tailgating us far too closely as we had a short stretch to go along a very narrow lane heading to a layby, with Verity on Blue and me just leading Presto. We got to the pull in as another car came up who skimmed past us with inches to spare and far too quickly, which startled Presto and sent him up the bank. Thankfully Blue was rock steady, as the original car, who saw what was happening, but decided to go ahead and pass us anyway!
It's going to take a little work to get Presto fully confident on the roads again, he wasn't traumatised, but he was unsettled, these little cracks can lead to more a serious reaction, so it's back to the foundation training for him just to be sure he is happy and safe on the roads again.

Dear Road Users, we would much rather be enjoying the bridleways and open common, but to get there we need to use the roads, roads that we are allowed to use. We make ourselves as bright as possible, we give you the best opportunity to see us, but today wasn't about blind corners and not seeing us, it was just inpatient people not responding to the Highway Code signalling requesting that they slow down! We haven't had such a bad day of hacking for a long time, I appreciate that everyone is in a hurry as it's the festive season and all, but a waiting a couple of minutes can literally be the difference between life and death!

A quest to find Santa's reindeer took a fascinating twist, under a beautiful rainbow we found the most incredible tree which had recently been struck by lightning, with a good inch of charred wood on the inside of the tree. Making a brilliant playground for young minds full to the brim with adventure.
We also found an underground stream which was bubbling up above the ground, and forging its own route above ground before disappearing into a deep hole.
Aside from our natural wonders, there were hills to sausage roll down, plenty of trees to climb and a beautiful big lake in the grounds of the grand Petworth House, where the children fetched their sticks to fish for leaves.

It's a funny old world out there, to think our audience spans around the whole globe, and how it's winter here in the UK with the dark evenings and cold snaps, often with lots of rain, but my brother's enjoying his summer time over in New Zealand. I don't travel much, in fact I haven't actually had a passport for at least the last 15 years, it feels rather peculiar to think of those having a Festive Session in the height of summer! Although, Verity would very much enjoy it, she is yet to miss a pony ride on Christmas Day, she would be in her element cantering around on Christmas with the sun on their backs! But, instead we are under waterproof exercise sheets and long warm coats, roll on summer with the good ground for some good old fashioned pony fun! I'm looking forward to what kind of rider will emerge over the next summer, as the last summer showed some pretty awesome transformations!

For one night only, a man as great as Santa himself, took some time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit to the School Christmas Fair 😂
Mr Kipling carried the Christmas Dreams and Wishes of all the children, stole the odd lollipop, gave a fair few Christmas Kisses, and basically had a wonderful time alongside dear Super Noodles, who is fast wondering where his retirement has suddenly gone 🤣😂

Blue clearly finds it hilarious that Mr Kipling has to go out to the Christmas Fair, obviously feeling thankful that the Christmas Unicorn wasn't required this year and he can just chill in the field. Unbeknown to him, Mr Kipling loves any opportunity to be the centre of attention 😂

Our Story

Pony Pals is a team of miniature horses and a donkey who make therapy visits to nursing homes / hospices / community centres and hospitals. The ponies are house trained, insured and licensed to work inside and trained to use the lift. They can also be booked to entertain the children at birthday parties. We also have the wonderful little miracle workers that are The Guinea Pig Gang, these little critters make up a group of 8 and have varying colours and coat textures. They are also available for their own therapy visits, they have a transport house on wheels so we are fully mobile, and sit beautifully on little lap trays for the residents to enjoy them. New for 2021 we will have The Chicken Chums joining the therapy visit options. The new recruits are a variety of small chicken breeds and are currently training to also sit quietly on laps to be stroked and chattered too.

We are based in Liphook, Hampshire and travel up to an hour for our visits.

We are currently closed due to the coronavirus outbreak and look forward to visiting again in 2021.
