When the unicorn comes out to play!
It's been a fair few months since the arena eventing course has been up at Castle Copse Equestrian, and for Verity a fair few months since she got her confidence from the last visit there.
On the drive in the horsebox she was full of enthusiasm to be jumping the 50-60cm jumps, , and then when she realised how full up cross country jumps are she soon decided the 40cm course was much more manageable!
It's totally ok to set off at the same place that was previously achieved, or even to take a step below that level, achievement isn't measured in height, it's simply about having fun, the 40cm course was fun, so we achieved the best result! We will head back in a couple of weeks and see if she wants to jump the same height again, or pop them up a little, the jumps are so easily changeable which is fantastic for cross country fences, and she will soon get used to the width of them too.

The last time we were at Castle Copse Equestrian Verity was just merging off the lead rein and suddenly found her confidence and went for it! A fair few months have rolled on by and her riding has gone from strength to strength over the spring and summer, and now as we tumble into autumn the arena eventing course is back up again! We are just heading to pick Bluey up and very much adventure bound this morning!

A short story about the time Oliver took a trip to Pony Club.

He came, he saw, he took a nap...
Oliver did not wish to attend Pony Club again.
Noodles soon retired.
Blue is relieved.

We are heading to Verity and Blue's favourite playground tomorrow, the arena eventing is open again at Castle Copse Equestrian It''s been about 7 months now since that incredible moment when her confidence suddenly clicked mid session on this course and I unclipped the lead rope and these two had the ultimate fun! She has gone from strength to strength all summer, and now we can head back tomorrow and enjoy this course again, it has been her calendar countdown to jump there again!

I love all the guesses of where Oliver and I shared our special day together. He absolutely is a petrol head, so I'm not surprised that many people suggested we might be heading off on some adventure on 4 wheels, but alas, Oliver is actually too young for these activities, despite being a total pro on his various machines at home, but what with insurance and all that!
Oliver absolutely adores rhinos, they are his all time favourite animal. He spends his screen time watching documentaries on wildlife, and programs like Deadly 60, or exploring his interactive globe. He is impossible to play Guess The Animal with as he will think of something and then give hints like, "it lives in South East Asia" 🤣
We got wind of a new baby rhino born at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens so last night we headed up after school to stay in a hotel to get an early start at the wildlife park as it's a couple of hours drive. Oliver sure loves an All You Can Eat hotel breakfast, so fully fuelled we did the last few mins of our journey, and were the first at the rhino paddock. I've got some wonderful clips to share with you all of baby Markus and his various chums at the wildlife park, after a fabulous Mum and Son day!

What a super exciting day Oliver has had at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens he got to see their handsome new baby rhinos, which is his absolute favourite animal in the whole world! In his head we all know that he was dreaming of jumping on the rhino's back and taking in the sights of the Wildlife Park, so a huge thanks to a lovely page follower who brought Oliver's daydream to life for us all to enjoy 🤣😂

(As Yvonne stated when she made this, it is not real, it is A.I, I wouldn't allow Oliver to ride a Rhino without putting a girth on his saddle first!!)

And not just any rhinos, a baby rhino!!! Oliver's all time favourite animal, so we had to drive a couple of hours up to see the new baby at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens

Our Story

Pony Pals is a team of miniature horses and a donkey who make therapy visits to nursing homes / hospices / community centres and hospitals. The ponies are house trained, insured and licensed to work inside and trained to use the lift. They can also be booked to entertain the children at birthday parties. We also have the wonderful little miracle workers that are The Guinea Pig Gang, these little critters make up a group of 8 and have varying colours and coat textures. They are also available for their own therapy visits, they have a transport house on wheels so we are fully mobile, and sit beautifully on little lap trays for the residents to enjoy them. New for 2021 we will have The Chicken Chums joining the therapy visit options. The new recruits are a variety of small chicken breeds and are currently training to also sit quietly on laps to be stroked and chattered too.

We are based in Liphook, Hampshire and travel up to an hour for our visits.

We are currently closed due to the coronavirus outbreak and look forward to visiting again in 2021.
