There is no Breakfast Club at Linden Church this Wednesday due to half-term. We will therefore run our surgery by appointment only. To book an appointment, please contact us by email on cllr.rebecca.fogarty@swansea.gov.uk or cllr.sara.keeton@swansea.gov.uk or phone on 07724 437865 or 07903 411857.

We will also be at West Cross Caffi this week, 10am-12pm on Thursday at Baywood Community Centre, no appointment needed. Outside of these times, we are available using the above contact details.

ROAD CLOSURE NEXT WEEK

To enable road resurfacing, West Cross Avenue will be closed Monday-Friday next week, 9am-5pm. First Cymru have advised the 3A will be diverted to omit Norton Road and West Cross Avenue in both directions and divert via Mumbles Road to/from West Cross Lane.

Thank you for your patience as these essential works are completed. Works have been scheduled during half-term to minimise disruption as far as possible.

Lots of Halloween fun over the half-term holidays in West Cross. Here's one, from ALN-Connect - 11:30, 30th October at the Linden Centre.

ALN-Connect runs events for carers and children to break down the isolation that can arise with neurodiversity, caring for family with neurodiversity, and creates a supportive and nurturing environment where children are accepted and parents understand each other.

I absolutely love being part of this project - the volunteers are amazing, we save shedloads of food from going to landfill and we have a lovely time over a cup of tea (or squash in my case). We have liaised with police in response to concerns raised on social media over the weekend.

They have confirmed there was an isolated incident that police responded to. There was and remains no threat to public safety arising from this incident.

We are in the process of arranging a PACT meeting for residents to be able to raise any further concerns with police. Date and location to be confirmed.

Out with Housing officers and our new Community Liaison Officer around Boarspit estate today.

Wonderful to see all the activity to improve Council houses, which will drive up energy efficiency, reducing bills and carbon footprint.🏘

Picked up a few maintenance issues that we'll report in. Good work on Chestnut Avenue and Broadparks by the Cleansing Ward Operative Team last week. 👏

I'm thrilled to have been appointed to the Cabinet with responsibility for Corporate Services (Democracy). I'm looking forward to continuing to work for Swansea in my new role. As a result of my appointment to Cabinet, I have today had to offer my resignation of the Climate Change & Nature Recovery Service Transformation Committee. I remain deeply committed to tackling the climate and nature emergencies. I will still be Councillor Champion for Transport, where I will continue to work on improving access to cleaner, greener modes of transport.

Two new councillors have joined Swansea Council’s Cabinet in a job share role as part of a mini‑reshuffle, with portfolios reshaped following Robert Francis‑Davies’ temporary leave of absence.

I'll be at our weekly surgery at 11am-12pm in the Linden Centre on Elmgrove this morning.

Then I'll be popping along to the tenant event at the Brangwyn Hall from about 1-2pm.

Always happy to talk with residents, no appointment needed at either event. Lots going on at the Brangwyn all day, if you're a council tenant, check it out!
