💖💙 Baby Loss Awareness Week begins today 💖💙

Today marks the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October), a deeply important week of remembrance and support for all families who have experienced the heartbreak of pregnancy and baby loss.

At PANDAS, we recognise that few experiences can compare to the trauma and pain of pregnancy and baby loss. This week provides a safe and supportive space to share experiences and feel that you are not alone.

You are not alone
Whether you've experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or any form of pregnancy loss, please know that your baby's life mattered. Your grief is valid, and your journey through this difficult time deserves understanding and compassion. During this week, we encourage open conversations about pregnancy and baby loss. Breaking the silence helps ensure that every bereaved family receives the support they need and deserve.

The Wave of Light
This week culminates with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on 15 October and the poignant global Wave of Light at 7pm. Families around the world will light candles in memory of their much-loved babies who died too soon.

How we're here for you
Throughout Baby Loss Awareness Week and beyond, our perinatal mental health services remain available to support you. We understand that grief doesn't follow a timeline, and healing looks different for everyone.
If you need someone to talk to, please reach out. You are not alone.

We'd also like to signpost you to some incredible charities who provide incredible information and support around baby loss

Repost from (thank you so much - it’s beautiful ❤️🙏⬇️)

I know at the moment
All you see is rain
Feeling every day
Will just bring more pain

And I know it feels like
It will never end
That you can’t unburden -
Even to a friend.

But I promise one day
You’ll see through the rain
And you’ll start to feel
Like yourself again

And until that day,
Whatever the weather
I’ll stay right here -
We’ll face it together ☔️☀️

******
I’ve had so many friends help me out and support me in the last few years - through parenting stresses, through work stresses, hormone stresses and, more recently, through grief. And as well as friends I’ve also been helped out by complete strangers - by people who just care. So I guess the point of this post is to say please don’t ever think you have to get through stuff on your own. I KNOW (as someone who can hold their feelings quite tightly) how hard it can be to start the conversation with someone, but also know from experience that it really can help.

For parents and carers please always know that is there to support you 💜

xx
