Does any one know of a better selling platform other than Etsy. I sell my belts on there and the fees aren’t too bad as it’s a percentage of the sale, so I poped a lamp which sold last night by the time they took the fees off and I’ve some how got whacked with a fee for a offsite add on google which come to over £30 which wasn’t expected l, and ended up making a loss 🤯. I got an eBay page but it doesn’t pick many sales, up 3 this year!

I just realised the previous post cropped the mock up photo, 🤦hopefully this one doesn’t do the same again

After getting back from the Xmas Market I took a squint on fb marketplace and ive ended up with a Pyrene fire extinguisher and bracket dating from 1920
And a had a delivery of a aluminium a type branch, dated 1953 which I can only guess came from a green goddess fire appliance as the queens markings are on it. The godesses were made between 1953 and 1953.

From a battered unloved branch which has seen several knocks over its life has been to a fully functional lamp, you may notice the light bulb fitting is slightly on the wonk, this is due to branch being dropped bending the discharge nozzle, but I I think adds an extra bit of charm.

This afternoon/ evening kept me a little busy. One Etsy order for a dog collar made, and bases for 2 of the lamps underway.

After waiting a few weeks for my supplier to get a few items in that was on back order, its time to make a few lamps 💡

Not strictly, branched out except the belt I made this afternoon and is now on route upt north.

I brought a collection of branches and an old brass coupling on eBay last week as a job lot, Mainly as i rather like the copper and brass type but it was also shares my surname, the rose hose co from Manchester how made horse drawn steam fire engines hoses etc this branch was most likely was used on the old steam pump like the one in the photos which was made by William Rose in 1898 and shows 2 of the branches fitted.

The smaller branch i believe is even older as there’s no makers name I can’t be sure of its age.

Few before and after shots of when they arrived and after few hours of polishing the camera doesn’t do them justice
