This afternoon we explored a wonderful memory box loaned from STEAM Museum, filled with objects from the 1940s and 50s.

Residents loved handling the items and sharing memories. It sparked so many conversations, “I remember that!” moments and smiles.

We also made our own poppy wreaths using red and purple poppies to hang around the home.

It has been a wonderful day of remembrance ❤️

Today the Orchid came together for a truly moving Remembrance Day service. Martin kindly led us, and Julie played the bugle beautifully as we paused to reflect and honour those who served. It was a wonderful way to commemorate, feeling peaceful, proud and connected.

Last week we enjoyed a lovely Bonfire Night together! 🔥

We had sparklers, mulled wine, hot chocolate, jacket potatoes, and marshmallows toasted by the fire. The atmosphere was so cosy with lots of smiles, chatting and enjoying the crisp evening air.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a warm, relaxed night for our residents. ❤️🔥

We had a spook-tacular time at our Halloween party today! 🕸️
Residents and families joined in for:
🧙‍♀️ A frightfully fun quiz and singalong
🕷️ Games galore including Splat the Spider and Pin the Nose on the Witch!
🍪 Delicious bat biscuits handmade by our residents and some wickedly tasty Halloween cupcakes
🧛 Costume Competition! Where our winners Sai and Aneta were presented with their prizes!

Our Halloween Baby Group was filled with giggles, costumes and music! The little ones came dressed up in their spooky best and joined in parachute games, a mini disco, and bubbles galore. It was wonderful to see residents and families smiling and joining in the Halloween fun together. 🎈🎶🫧
