This week, we proudly celebrate the incredible individuals who volunteer their time, skills, and expertise as trustees of First Light.

By generously sharing their time and professional insight, our trustees help shape the direction of our work and ensure we can continue providing life-changing support to those affected by sexual violence, domestic abuse, and church-related abuse.

To each of our trustees: thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission, and for helping us ensure every voice is heard, believed, and supported.

Stand4Change is coming.

From 25 November to 10 December, we’ll be leading our annual campaign as part of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence.

Now in its third year, Action4Change has grown into a movement for awareness, commitment, and action:
• Time4Change raised awareness
• Pledge4Change encouraged people to commit to change
• Stand4Change invites everyone to take a stand in workplaces, schools, communities, and online

This year, we’re focusing on practical ways to challenge gender-based violence and support survivors.

We’ll be sharing survivor voices, resources, and actions you can take to make a difference.

Together, we can move from awareness to action, and from action to lasting change.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated during our Big Give campaign and to those who helped share our content. Your support has enabled us to create a vital crisis fund to support women and girls affected by sexual abuse and violence.

This fund will help remove barriers to accessing support, reporting abuse, and receiving additional help in court. None of this would have been possible without you.

Thank you for standing with us.

First Light - Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Support for all

The Swindon and Wiltshire Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) is a specialist centre for anyone aged 16 and above who has been sexually assaulted. The service is provided by First Light in partnership with G4S. We believe that the only person to blame for a sexual assault is the person who committed the crime. We offer trauma informed crisis support, access to medication and a welfare check, sexual health advice, and the option to have DNA evidence retained if you or someone you know is considering reporting to police. We offer time, a listening ear and an honest conversation to figure out what support is best for you. Coming to the SARC means putting you back in control, and empowering you to know that you can thrive again.
