I’m not here to sell you new skincare (I couldn’t sell hay to a horse to be honest 😂)
But I am going to gently challenge your current routine if I think what you’re currently using isn’t working.
If your skin isn’t improving — or feels like it’s constantly “acting up” — it’s usually not because you need more products. It’s often because something in the plan isn’t aligned.
Here are a few places routines commonly go wrong:
• Too many actives at once – Layering exfoliating acids, retinoids, and brightening products can quietly damage your barrier. Irritated skin doesn’t heal well.
• Inconsistency – Using products randomly or stopping and starting every few weeks prevents real progress. Skin needs repetition to adapt and improve.
• No clear objective – If you’re targeting acne, pigmentation, texture, and anti-aging all at the same intensity, you may be overwhelming your skin. Focus matters.
• Skipping barrier support – Hydration and repair are not optional. Even oily or acne-prone skin needs a strong barrier to function properly.
• Expecting overnight change – Cell turnover takes time. Collagen remodeling takes longer. If you change products every two weeks, you reset the process.
A good skincare plan isn’t about having more. It’s about having the right products, used correctly, for long enough to allow biological processes to work.
Sometimes it’s not that your skin is “difficult.”
It’s that the plan lacks structure.
Evaluate the routine before replacing it.
