I stayed there until I joined the RAF as a medic. I served for almost 13 years and completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan - being part of the Medical Emergency Response Team. I left in 2010 and worked with the ambulance service for 4 years before injury forced me to stop. Since then, I have worked alongside the community nurses in the rapid response team, dealing with urgent visits, a role I have thoroughly enjoyed. I decided to set up my business as I would like to be my own boss. I enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life. I look forward to meeting you

This is from one ear only. It was difficult to remove as the client hadn’t used oil. I could see straight away on examination that it had been there for a while due to the colour of it, it also looked dry. I applied olive oil and attempted to suction it out, but was unsuccessful as it was causing the client pain. I switched to warm water irrigation and thankfully it came out relatively quickly.
I always say to clients to use olive oil twice a day for at least 3 days prior to their appt to help soften the wax which in turn helps with removal. Unfortunately this client forgot to do it.
There was also some evidence that something had been pushed into the canal as there was an indentation in the wax. This in turn compacted the wax further against the eardrum.

Post gym snack of avocado and poached egg on sourdough, before heading off on a couple of visits. Today I did body pump, completed week 3 run 2 of couch to 5k and finished it off with a Pilates session. I deserve this!!

This client contacted me after being concerned about his sudden hearing loss on one side. He had no pain and said he felt ‘bunged up’. When I saw this I explained that there was nothing I could do and that he needed to speak with his gp for an urgent review. I contacted his surgery, with his permission, and he was seen the same day and referred urgently to the ENT (ears,nose and throat) clinic after showing the photos to the gp. Thankfully it was a nasty ear infection and resolved after antibiotics and steroids. He reports his hearing has returned. 😀
