Yesterday was a different Sunday to what we had planned, I ended up taken our littlest to hospital with croup which was scary, but he’s okay.
The reason for this post though was a conversation I had with a wonderfully nice doctor in A&E who asked me how many siblings were at home, to which I replied 3. He then smiled at me and asked “amazing, how are you coping? Are you doing okay?”
This sat with me and meant a lot. I am doing absolutely fine in the chaos of every day life, but the fact the doctor, in his busy day meeting lots of people, took time to really ask if I was okay, in recognising the challenges that come with lots of little children (even 1 little person is a lot too!) warmed my heart and put a smile on my face.
It reminded me how important it is to check in with others, loved ones, friends, colleagues, but more importantly, with yourself.
An important limb of yoga is pratyahara which involves looking inward, focusing on oneself and your own mind for a little time.
So, wherever you are today, and whatever you do, why not check in with someone, then take 5 minutes to check in with yourself too, you’ll be grateful you did ✨
