A question for our community.

Every Man Can used to be Boro Man Can in Middlesbrough telling the stories of mens positive health change to inspire other men to do the same.

Our evolution and expansion from small mens health campaign to a new vision, inspired by our evaluation, is to have a recognised brand for men to a) be inspired by other local mens stories amd b) find what works for them by connecting to the range of mens health work locally is what we are about.

Question for our fans and
Should we be looking at a new Tees Valley wide mens health network, to connect all the awesome mens health work providerd and then looking to connect the men?

Does something this directed already exist or still remain a need?

Please let us know in the comments below or message us direct.

100% self funded by Fire and Ice Community Sauna (our trading arm and all round awesome wellbeing and health intervention) this month we kicked off for real Every Man Can efforts to improve mens health at community level, at Healthier Heroes CIC. This one day had a workshop on the morning, looking at wellbeing, self regulation, brain basics and a taste of NLP foundational communication skills. We shared our stories, listened to each other and learned how to use the breath to calm ourselves and get into the window of tolerence.

We'll be looking for funding and donations to create/support a multi week programme that aims to empower traumatised men in recovery, educating them on nervous system regulation, and a whole element about their own communication, to help be part of the efforts to empower them with skills and strategies to rebuild their lives, themselves, over time.

Still not one penny raised from funding grants but some donations, some training to our partners and mainly from fire and ice community sauna. After 1.5 years, I've also started to pay myself a little bit too, in doing thr range of work.

To me, this is what social enterprise is about, providing something that's good for our customers, using that income to spend on supporting others and creating employment as well.

More plans ahead include providing a grant to a local provider, Knock Out Depression who will be providing a six week programme to formerly homeless men in a Middlesbrough supported accommodation.

Watch this space.
Thanks so much if you are a supporter. This is why we do it.
With gratitude

As Prince William says, and we agree, we do need more men speaking out and sharing their unique journeys, not just mental health but all health issues too. Its known to increase likelihood of mens self seeking solutions.

We are very shortly mapping all mens health services and activities as part of our 3 phase plan to help men 'find what works for them' when they want and need to make a positive health change.

Next phase is to fund and start collecting those all important stories to lead men into their own first steps.

Watch out here and from local networks for that call.

Today was the highlight of , as our apprentices had the chance to meet some incredible guest speakers during our Apprenticeship Forum.

The first session was hosted by Richie Andrew from Every Man Can and we’d like to thank Richie for sharing his knowledge with our apprentices who learned some interesting facts about mental health together with some useful and easy techniques to manage stress.

The following visitors were very special, as once again The Caremark Therapy Dogs joined us to bring smiles to everyone’s faces. Being surrounded by so many happy, gentle and caring dogs definitely made their day brighter.

We hope our apprentices had a great time this week and we’re really proud of their hard work and achievements!

Cabinet Member for Resources, Cllr Christopher Massey, said: “Seeing our apprentices thrive in their roles, grow their skill set and enjoy their work is one of the great things about representing the Council.

“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to learn and get hands on experience whether you are just starting work, or you are making a career change.

“I would like to thank our apprentices for their continued contributions and our staff for the hard work they put into training and mentoring them.”

We'll shortly be undertaking a call to action, to map and sign up, under our powerful brand, all mens health activities across Tees Valley.

The time has come for a new comprehensive mens health network to connect the efforts and make it easy and appealing for men to access support. We are the response to that need.

Watch. This. Space.

Every day, around 12,000 people become carers, often without a chance to plan or prepare. As a carer, you hold your family together. You help your loved one live life as fully as possible. You make a huge contribution to society and save the economy billions. You might not see yourself as a "carer."....

The concept of a "dark sauna" merges the traditional benefits of a sauna with an intriguing twist—immersing oneself in near-total darkness. This environment can enhance relaxation and focus, as the absence of visual stimuli other than the rhythmic lap of light form the wood burnign stove allows individuals to turn inward, promoting a deeper meditative state, ideal for a 30 min guided meditation and cooling breathwork to relax further.

In a dark sauna, the calming heat helps to open up pores, detoxify the body, and improve circulation, while the darkness can heighten one's other senses, leading to a more profound mindfulness experience. Additionally, this unique setting can encourage a sense of peace and solitude, making it an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As with any sauna experience, it's essential to stay hydrated and listen to your body, ensuring a safe and rejuvenating experience.
