🎉 Success at the WAGS Awards 🎉

We’re delighted share that ShireLiving Housing and Care Manager Sue East has been recognised as a winner at this year’s Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards (WAGS), receiving the Rising Star Award! 🌟

Although Sue joined us only six months ago, she’s already made an incredible impact. With empathy and purpose, she has inspired her team to deliver outstanding care and shown the leadership qualities that mark her out as one to watch in the sector.

We’re also proud to celebrate all of our colleagues who reached the finals at the WAGS Awards. Each nomination is a testament to the strength, dedication, and passion across our care teams and it’s wonderful to see that recognised nationally.

🎄 The Ashwood Christmas Fete was a tree-mendous success! 🎄

It was a wonderful day filled with a great atmosphere and plenty of festive fun.

Santa made a special appearance, and our amazing group of carol singers helped bring the Christmas spirit to life 🎅

We’re looking for stall holders to join the Christmas Fayre at Ashwood, on Saturday 29 November, 2–4pm.

If you’ve got festive gifts, crafts, treats or ideas to share, we’d love to have you as part of the afternoon. Stalls are just £8 each, and spaces are limited.

Wartime stories and handmade tributes at Withywood 🎖

This Remembrance Day, tenants at Withywood, a ShireLiving extra care scheme in Shrewsbury, have shared powerful family memories and personal artefacts, from medals and photographs to a lipstick fused to a penny salvaged from the Liverpool bombings.

Alongside these stories, the Knit and Natter group have been crafting poppies and knitted dolls representing service men and women. Their work is now on display in the scheme, with a poppy-themed postbox topper outside for the wider community.

🍰☕ Teams across our locations have been busy whisking, baking and brewing for Macmillan Cancer Support, hosting coffee mornings and bake offs that brought people together for a brilliant cause.

From lemon drizzle triumphs to decorated showstoppers, our communities and offices raised over £2,300 to help support those affected by cancer, with more donations still coming in!

A massive thank you to everyone who baked, donated, and joined in. 💚
