We've nearly finished our work on Blackheath town centre for Sandwell !

As part of the project we've created a new bus interchange, zebra crossings and improved paving - the ornate paving stones look fantastic! πŸ‘Œ

We've also widened pavements and improved loading spaces for local businesses. It's going to be much safer for people walking around and more welcoming for visitors too.

Great to have Scott Orr, CEO of Untold Living visit our Newport Retirement Community for the topping out ceremony recently!

Scott was really pleased with how quickly the site has transformed and said McPhillips has been an incredible partner to work alongside. Always good to hear!

This project will provide much-needed quality housing for Newport's retired community.

Scott's speaking at Retirement Living & Care UK in London on 4 December about sector performance, investment and efficiency. We're heading along too and looking forward to hearing his insights.

Over the past few days our strategic development manager Chris Jones and contracts director Andrew Dunham have been out and about across the West Midlands.

First stop was Thebusinessdesk.com West Midlands Property Lunch where we heard from Richard Lawrence, executive director of place prosperity and sustainability at Birmingham City Council , about his plans for the city and the need for different sectors to work together.

Then it was off to The Halls Wolverhampton for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. Congratulations to all the winners - shows what a strong business community we have here with so much innovation and ambition right across the region.

🚧 We counted at least 20 different road signs in this picture – that's a lot of signage! 🚧

The McPhillips team partnered with Traffix to visit Clinton Primary School in Kenilworth for a fantastic hands-on road safety lesson. The children became pedestrians, drivers, and roadworkers, using cones and signs to explore the hazards and safety measures around roadworks.

The pupils loved getting involved in the practical activities and lesson delivered by Stuart Morrisey, Traffix managing director.

A big thank you to Clinton Primary School for welcoming us and to Traffix for their expert partnership in delivering this important safety message.

With the Autumn Budget just days away, uncertainty is mounting across the construction sector. What does our industry really need from Chancellor Rachel Reeves on 26 November?

Our managing director Paul Inions, who also chairs Shropshire Constructing Excellence, believes the focus must be on delivery:

"The Chancellor faces tough decisions, but our sector needs clarity and genuine support, not just promises and announcements.

"The West Midlands has incredible potential, but we need proper funding commitments and streamlined planning."

Paul and other business leaders share their budget concerns in the Shropshire Star , link below:πŸ‘‡

Our Addenbrooke House team has achieved an excellent rating from the Considerate Constructors Scheme! 🌟

Ceilings and partitions are progressing well on the top floor and the transformation into Telford College's new sixth form centre for Telford & Wrekin Council is really taking shape.

This is going to be an amazing facility for young people right in the town centre. πŸŽ“

πŸ—οΈ Our social value co-ordinator Emily Myatt visited years 5 and 6 at Lawley Village Primary Academy & Nursery for National STEM Day.

The students designed and built their own bridges, then tested their strength by loading them with objects.

These school visits help inspire the next generation to consider careers in construction and engineering.

Who knows? Some of these budding engineers might join the McPhillips team in years to come! πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ

Today at 11am, we'll be observing a two minute silence across our sites to mark Remembrance Day.

As we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we're proud to be a member of the Armed Forces Covenant, showing our commitment to supporting the armed forces community.

We will remember them.

Pond dipping is back on the curriculum! 🐸

Our team has helped revamp the forest school area at Sutton Park Primary School in Kidderminster, creating an amazing outdoor classroom for local children.

Working with Wyre Forest District Council , we've enhanced the existing pond and added new plants bought from the The Emily Jordan Foundation , to encourage local wildlife - giving pupils hands-on experience of nature and environmental learning.

It's part of our commitment to giving back to the communities we work in and we're delighted to support outdoor education that will benefit children for years to come! πŸŽ“
