A simple test could save a life - yet so many in sport have never had access to one.

🎤 Have a listen as Faye Singleton discusses why we started this project and how the latest county FA have got involved. It was great to speak with a local news team from Cumberland FA on the impact of Cumberland FA joining our ECG screening initiative! 👇

This programme is opening up access to cardiac screening for grassroots players, walking football teams, and referees - groups who, until now, have had very limited opportunities to be tested.

Faye said, "Along this journey, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly incredible people. A special mention to Ben Snowdon, CEO at Cumberland FA, whose dedication to this project is making a real difference. Through Cumberland FA's Fred Conway Fund, created in memory of their late CEO who died from an undiagnosed cardiac condition, this initiative is helping provide potentially life-saving ECG tests to the community.

What continues to stand out is how many people I meet who have been affected by undetected heart conditions. Nearly every conversation carries a story of loss - and it only strengthens my passion to raise awareness and expand access to this technology."

ECG screening made more accessible for grassroots teams.

Congratulations to North Riding County Football Associationnorthridingfa on being named ‘Sports Initiative of the Year’ at the Yorkshire Prestige Awards 2025/2026. The award recognises their commitment to player welfare through the implementation of ECG heart screening across the women’s football pathway.

The QT Medical 12-lead ECG machine utilises a pre-positioned electrode patch that allows players to apply the device themselves, with clinical data demonstrating equivalence to a hospital-grade test.

This removes traditional barriers to screening and enables all organisations to deliver reliable cardiac screening to young people - without the need for on-site medical teams.

Welcome to the CardioLogic Cardiac Screening Initiative.

Our mission is simple. Make heart screening more accessible for young people across the UK.

We are working with sports clubs, colleges, and various organisations to bring cardiac testing directly into local communities.

The project was inspired by CardioLogic employee Faye Singleton after a York City Ladies teammate collapsed due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Thankfully she made a full recovery, but it highlighted how important early screening can be and how access to testing still needs to improve.

Follow our page as we share the incredible clubs and community groups helping to bring cardiac screening to their members.

We are delighted to have supported ECG screening ~50 players from Evolution Sports Academy thanks to North Riding County Football Association.

The need for cardiac screening is clear:

❤️‍🩹12 young people die each week in the UK from undiagnosed cardiac conditions
❤️‍🩹Around 80% show no prior symptoms
❤️‍🩹1 in 300 young people screened have a potentially life-threatening condition identified

If your North Riding FA team are interested in setting up a screening session, please get in touch with us or Jasmine Morris.

If you're outside of the North Riding FA, get in touch to see how we can still offer this opportunity to your players.

We are proud to offer ECG tests to our club. So far we have hosted two screening sessions, testing over 40 players with thanks to the RIding FA.

Why this is important:
- 12 young people die each week in the UK from undiagnosed cardiac conditions
- Around 80% show no prior symptoms
- 1 in 300 young people screened have a potentially life-threatening condition identified

North Riding FA are offering ECG tests to their players over age 12 at £30 per person. If your club is interested in offering this, please contact Faye Singleton via email (Faye@cardiologic.co.uk) or Jasmine Morris at the North Riding FA.

Great insights from George Polglass, Head Physio at UK Athletics, on the impact of the QT Medical. 12-lead ECG device.

By removing traditional barriers to testing, their ECG screening rates have increased from under 50% to over 85%. The portable design allows screening to continue at overseas training camps, while the pre-positioned electrode system means physios, and even athletes themselves, can easily facilitate a 12-lead ECG.

A step forward for accessible, scalable cardiac screening in sport.

This Heart Month we had the privilege of speaking with Aneil Malhotra, our reporting Cardiologist, Professor of Sports Cardiology and Inherited Cardiac Diseases.

We discussed the reality behind the statistics, what an ECG actually is, and why cardiac screening plays such an important role in identifying potentially life-threatening conditions in young people.

Awareness is key. An ECG is quick, simple, and potentially life-saving.

We are proud to have established our cardiac screening initiative within multiple county FAs, offering an ECG test to their players, staff, and referees. This is all thanks to the QT Medical, Inc. innovation. A 12-lead ECG machine that utilises a pre-positioned electrode patch, that individuals can administer themselves.

We are delighted to be working with UK Athletics and Head Doctor James Brown to deliver cardiac screening for elite athletes. A vital tool for the early detection of underlying cardiac conditions.

Particularly important as sudden cardiac death is up to four times more likely in athletes than in normally active young people.

Using the QT Medical portable ECG device and pre-positioned electrode patch, organisations like UK Athletics can now complete high-quality ECG screenings in-house, with expert reporting provided by Aneil Malhotra - Professor of Sports Cardiology.

This technology is opening doors, improving access, and helping us reach more young people with potentially life-saving screening.

We attended the HMC (The Heads' Conference) in Newport earlier this month to share our cardiac screening initiative, designed to open doors for schools and sports clubs without an affiliated ECG technician to carry out in-house 12-lead ECG tests.

We’re delighted to have Professor Aneil Malhotra on board to report on these ECGs. Professor Malhotra also joined us at the conference to speak about the critical importance of cardiac screening in young people.

Why ECG screening is important:
❗12 young people die every week in the UK from undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
❗ 80% show no symptoms beforehand.
❗ A simple 10-second ECG can help identify hidden risks early.
❗ 1 in ~260 people have a potentially life-threatening condition highlighted in an ECG test.

How this innovation is opening doors:
✅ The pre-positioned electrode patch allows anyone to easily record a 12-lead ECG from the centre of the chest - no medical training required.
✅ The compact device enables on-site testing anywhere, removing the need to travel.
✅ Each ECG is analysed by a Cardiologist, with a detailed report returned a week later.

If you are interested in cardiac screening at your organisation, please email faye@cardiologic.co.uk

Elite clubs have access to cardiac screening… but what about teams lower down?

When one of our employee’s teammates at York City Ladies Football Club collapsed on the pitch last year with an undiagnosed heart condition, it raised a question for us: what screening options really exist across different football tiers?

The reality is that cardiac screening is difficult to access for most clubs unless they’re classed as ‘elite’.

At CardioLogic, we’ve been working to change that – bringing practical solutions to grassroots football. And this week, we took another big step forward! 🔥

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of training the Birmingham County FA on their brand-new 12-lead ECG device – and what a fantastic team they are. We’re delighted to welcome them to this cardiac screening initiative, following on from North Riding County Football Association. 🎉

For those unfamiliar, the device uses a pre-positioned electrode patch that sticks centrally to the chest. It can be applied by anyone – no medical training required. In fact, the Birmingham staff administered it themselves for the very first time yesterday. Results are then sent securely to our cardiologists via the cloud, with reports returned within a week.

This technology is a genuine game-changer – not just for football, but for any sport or organisation without medical professionals on-site.

We’re excited to be part of this initiative and can’t wait to see it grow across more counties, sports, and schools. Next week, we’ll also be at the HMC (The Heads’ Conference) to share this innovation with the education sector.
