Ode to 2025

Tonight, as we draw the curtains
on the year that’s passed,
look skyward.

The moon reflects light
that once warmed our mornings.
The stars shine now
with light that began its journey long ago.

What we experience in the present
is often shaped by what came before —
carried quietly, sometimes for a lifetime.

Like the stars and the moon,
it’s okay to reflect the past.
And we can also choose to look forward —
opening the curtains on a new dawn,
a new year.

Hopeful.
Rich with experience.
Holding the wisdom of lessons learned,
and gently illuminating the way
towards our future selves.

This is the quiet work of the mind —
honouring where we’ve been,
while creating space for what comes next.

Wishing all my clients, past and present,
a peaceful and purposeful New Dawn in 2026.

Viewpoint.

I can’t do the crazy Christmas dashing and shopping.

But I can do
winter sunset,
viewed through a horse’s ears.

There’s an old Arabian proverb:
“The wind of heaven blows between a horse’s ears.”

It speaks to the peace, presence, and quiet joy found on horseback —
where the noise of the world softens,
and something steadier takes its place.

This is my Christmas spirit.
A little peace amongst the chaos.

What’s yours?

Closed for Christmas 🎄

As I close for the Christmas break, I want to wish all my clients, past and present, a truly restful and nourishing festive period.

I’ll be back from 5th January, ready to welcome 2026 and to support clients who feel called to make changes, set new intentions, or gently let go of what no longer serves them.

Hypnotherapy isn’t only about goals or “New Year resolutions” — it’s also about understanding yourself more deeply, releasing unhelpful patterns, and finding solutions that feel right for you.

If you’re curious about how hypnotherapy might support you in the year ahead, I’m always happy to talk through any questions in a free consultation call before booking.

Wishing you a calm and peaceful Christmas.

Hugging panda.

Have you seen the weighted hugging panda toys?
Created to offer comfort and emotional regulation.

They’re a reminder of something very human —
we all need connection.

In a world that pulls us towards screens and away from presence, our nervous system still seeks safety, touch, and belonging.

When that’s missing, we look for ways to self-soothe.

Perhaps it’s time in nature, without distractions.
Maybe it’s reaching out to an old friend.
Or finding connection in a group or shared space.

Hypnotherapy helps gently uncover what your system is craving, supporting regulation and reconnection from the inside out.

We all need connection — even Socks agrees 🐾

If you’re feeling disconnected, you’re welcome to reach out.

Red sky at night.

Just a few brief moments of scarlet red scattered across the sky this evening.
An old adage comes to mind: “Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight.”

I often find there’s something grounding in these old beliefs — a time before everything was predicted, measured, and analysed by technology. A time when people learned to read the world through observation, intuition, and felt sense.

In therapy and hypnotherapy, we often return to this same inner knowing. Learning to notice subtle signals, to trust what the nervous system is communicating, and to recognise moments of calm as signs of safety and possibility ahead.

What old sayings still resonate truth for you?
Who feels, after witnessing this beautiful red sky, that tomorrow may gently unfold with ease?

Believe me, if I could wave a magic wand, I would 🪄

Your mind deserves the same care your body does.
Think of hypnotherapy as physio for your thoughts—
a space to release tension, heal old trauma,
and ease the patterns that no longer serve you.

When you understand the physiology of your brain,
you understand how to reshape the thoughts that shape your life.
Habits.
Confidence.
Performance.
Belief.
All of it becomes something you can work with instead of against.

And just like physio, there’s a little homework.
New “exercises” for your mind.
Gentle repetition.
Small actions that build strength.
Because your brain, like any muscle, can be trained—
and together we can help it work in the best possible way for you.

This isn’t magic.
This is neuroscience.

You can change your responses.
You can learn new ways of being.
You can process what’s behind you
and step boldly toward what’s waiting ahead.

Understanding.
Action.
Commitment.
That’s the real work.
Crossing the start line is the hardest part—
and after that, the only competition is your own mind.

Own it.
Believe.
Do.

✨ “You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.” — Deepak Chopra ✨

Life is a puzzle. Not all pieces fit together in order. Sometimes we need to deconstruct in order to rebuild.

In hypnotherapy, we tap into that inner space — the calm, powerful part of you that already knows how to heal, grow, and transform. When you quiet the noise and reconnect with your subconscious, new possibilities begin to open.

Trust your inner wisdom. Everything you need is already within. 🌿💫

There’s a beauty to a storm when we feel safe within it.
The rain falls hard, the wind rises, the sky darkens, the air flickers with electricity —
and still, we feel that little rush, that thrill.
Because we trust our shelter.
We know we’re safe.
We know it will pass.

And when we look at our own inner storms through that same lens —
with a touch of distance,
with the right “clothes” to weather it,
with the understanding that all storms are temporary —
something shifts.

We see differently.
We learn something new.
We grow a quiet respect for our resilience.
We find solutions, even when we feel caught in the eye of it.

There is always a way through.
And hypnotherapy can be the candle in a power cut — a small, steady flame guiding the way.

If you’d like to explore how hypnotherapy can support you, I’m here.

A leaf turns colour long before we notice it.
The mind works the same way—
quietly reshaping itself beneath the surface.

Change doesn’t need to be seismic to be significant.
Even the smallest subconscious shifts can guide us toward balance, clarity, and growth.

If you feel it’s time to nurture those shifts with support, I’m here when you’re ready.

Haircut ✨

Sometimes it really is simple.
We don’t need lotions and potions —
sometimes we just need a haircut.

To remove the dead ends.
To switch up the style.
To reconnect with a little self-respect. 🌿

Because growth often starts with letting go.
Clearing the old.
Making space for what we want to nurture.

It begins with our own responses.
How we want things to be.
How we want to feel.
How we want to live.
And the intention to create something different.

Pause, breathe, and consider:
what “dead ends” could you trim to nourish your future self? 💛

One small footstep.

Just one small step in a new direction reminds you that change is possible.

You may feel discomfort — that’s okay. That’s simply your conscious mind brushing up against old, familiar patterns.

A well-trodden path is always easier to walk… but it’s not the only direction available to you.

Thanks to the neuroplasticity of your brain, you can create new routes.
Obstacles don’t block your way — they invite you to find another way around.

And yes, the new path may feel uneven at first.
But before long, it becomes a superhighway to the changes you want to make.

Just one small step.
One thought.
One action.

And a commitment to the belief that things can be different.

This post feels especially close to my heart. As I look at my grandfather’s photo, I’m reminded of the bravery and resilience that lives on in all of us. ❤️

Lest we forget.

Those who gave their lives,
And fought for our future freedom.

Those who embraced uncertainty,
To gift us stability.

Those who overnight changed their jobs,
Changed their uniform,
Changed their lives —
So that those left behind
Weren’t left behind in hardship.

Today, we remember
Their courage,
Their strength,
Their bravery,
And the lives they gave.

Let’s honour them with our respect —
For all they sacrificed,
So our lives could be better.

And let’s honour them with our courage —
To face our own battles,
To change when change is needed,
And to live our years as the best reflection
Of their legacy,
And our own effort to grow.
