A mindful approach using body and mind practices can support your wellbeing and enhance your life. If you’re living with health issues and looking for some additional help, you can combine therapeutic yoga with conventional medical treatment to help you live your life in a more grounded and present way. Sarah also offers regular yoga and meditation classes as well as deep relaxation. Yoga is holistic and supports the whole of your being. Yoga helps to maintain and improve good physical health, keep your body mobile and flexible, stable and balanced, while supporting all the systems in the body. The management of chronic health issues is often helped by the benefits of therapeutic yoga. It is not just your physical wellbeing that benefits. Yoga is great for managing stress, such a huge problem these days which underlies much ill health. Yoga is also proven to help support your mental and emotional wellbeing and yoga therapy is helpful in the management of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression. Yoga teaches you how to relax, to feel grounded and stay present. Yoga fosters inner calm leading to increased emotional resilience and mental flexibility, enabling you to concentrate better and embrace the challenges in your daily life. Yoga promotes self-awareness and inner connection, so you’re likely to listen to and trust your inner wisdom. As the chattering mind begins to quieten, you discover peace and stillness lie within, while rediscovering the joy in your life. One final thing, please let go of any preconceptions you may have about the word “yoga” and any ideas of twisting your body into difficult positions. Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous Happy New Year and may you find joy and peace in the coming year.

I thank you for your friendship and support over the last year and send you love and all good wishes for the new year. May it be a happy and joyous one filled with peace and harmony, but, for the more difficult and challenging days, living in the present moment, grounded in your body and connected to your breath, provides a pragmatic way to navigate any stresses that come your way. You may not be familiar with these techniques, but they form the fundamentals to how I share the principles and practices of yoga.

I re-start my Wednesday evening yoga class via Zoom next week on 8th January at 7 pm. It’s a physically gentle practice, but relaxing and meditative, allowing you to take some time for to stretch and ease your body, while releasing emotional tensions with the intention of finding some inner peace. The classes details are on the link.

The first two yoga relaxations this year are on Mondays, 20 January & 17 February, 7-8 pm. More details are on this link. Please email sarah@swan-yoga.co.uk to book your space and remember to specify which date(s) you want to join.

A more mindful approach to life is central to yoga. This aids the processes of releasing (eg physical tensions and emotional holding) and facilitating inner connections to promote better wellbeing. Yoga can help you at any time in your life, whatever your age and state of health, if it is tailored to suit individual needs. To all of those who have joined me for yoga throughout the year, whether on a Wednesday evening or in my garden in the summer and for relaxation on a Monday, I thank you for your continued friendship and support this year.

Swan Yoga is taking a break now till the New Year. Wednesday yoga starts again on 8 January and the first relaxation will be on 20 January. As ever, details are on my website: https://swan-yoga.co.uk/
