Wednesday

Uckfield College group and a new cohort today for their stint with us this term. The mitre saw, table saw and circular saw were put into action today to make a cedar and oak console table. We almost got the table ready for staining. It was fantastic to see how competent they can come across the tools today.

Tuesday

Private 1:1 session today was wiring in household electrics, such as a single socket and a spur socket next to it. Followed by wiring up a light switch and ceiling pendant. Lots learnt including how to safely test for eclectic current once trip switches have been shut off.

SEN session and we had a wooden crate made, a cross bow and an arm chair drinks holder.

Mixed Primary Aged group also tried their hand at wiring in household electrics safely. The ongoing sword project is almost complete. We had an ongoing box project finished, glow in the dark decorated timber items, mm and a fabulous looking wooden robot. In the making is also a bird table.

Private 1:1 where we started to make a softwood log seat using a log this individual had come across and brought in.

After-School children carried on with an ongoing shelf project. We had the air rifle table finished and two sleeper style benches being made. There was a holistic box made and a screwdriver holder produced out of live edge oak.

Thursday and last of our Easter Holiday Sessions

SEN group and the ongoing wooden suit of armour project is going well and lots of clever, creative ways of making it work by the maker. We had a characterful treasure box made and an attempt at a wooden aeroplane. Great stuff.

Junior session was a 2 hour special today and we had the oak planter finished off as well as their table. We had a wooden chopping board made. A wooden table/tray and a mosaic piece was lovingly put together. We had a cool bird house made from a wayney edge board. A trebuchet catapult got its pieces cut out, just requires assembly and we had a cool looking figure cut out and mounted onto a circular mount. There was also a bit of experimenting with lemon juice and heat gun to produce wood burning pyrography. Everyone did a fantastic job today and it was brilliant to see the members playing outside together as well.

What a week! Loves seeing returning members and catching up with them all as well as welcoming new faces this week.

Check out Jack's 3D printing skills, mocking up a design to house our G Clamps safely for everyone. I have searched and searched for a holder for the G clamps and there is nothing out there. Within a few moments Jack had done a design on software with mm accuracy! Superb Jack! What a talent!
