Monday

Private 2:1 and not only have we started to build a 'Mario Cart' car garage but we also saw the UFO finished having been an ongoing project for a few sessions. Absolutely brilliant and loving the handmade Alien and bright glow in the dark strips and stars🧡

Mixed Primary Aged group produced a great wooden castle complete with a draw bridge. A wooden speed boat and the bird house was also completed today as well

11+ group started work on a bespoke storage shed for Maynard's Green School just outside of Horam having been contacted by the school to help them create one. Lovely project to get the children involved in. We also had a MTB ramp finished. The coffee table is ready to paint and we have a cat scratching post apparatus and a chair currently underway.

Ukrainian children started working on a wooden safe and made another game and finished their wooden sword.

Trip first thing this morning to Copford Sawmill in Horam, they very kindly have started to donate some of their surplus oak and soft wood timber to us.

When I first started in construction, I built green oak barns with my uncle who was based out of one of Copford Sawmills units. They have always been very helpful, friendly and hardworking, supplying beautiful hard and soft timber to a range of industries and individuals. Legends!

Thank you , the members of The Orange ToolBox will be making good use of this load of timber.

The Orange ToolBox values are for children and families. We are incredibly grateful to receive support from local businesses and parents who give their time and donations of surplus stock so children can have the freedom to create and develop essential life skills, make friends and build their own self-esteem.

Baby Bank & Beyond CIC is such a priceless, busy organisation completely run by volunteers, helping families who are currently struggling with everyday essentials and if we can support them, then we will. This not only brings us joy to donate items but it also makes the world go round. As well as last week's donation, many of our parents who have had their own items to donate have donated via our collection point here at The Orange ToolBox and we personally pass them onto Baby Bank who are always so grateful. 🧡

Just after our appeal for umbrella fold strollers, Ben from The Orange Toolbox comes to the rescue and brings us these.

Based in Blackboys, the Orange Toolbox offers hands-on construction workshops for children aged 2–16, including those with special educational needs - check them out!

They also have a Baby Bank collection point at their premises if you have anything you’d like to donate and the Brownings Farm Workshops are more convenient for you than Hellingly.

We value the support from Ben and the other organisations that step up to give us a helping hand -thank you.

Wednesday

Uckfield College new cohort of students started today.

Fully engaged with their lap joint pieces. Having a go on many power tools and hand tools throughout including using them on making anything they liked at the end of the session.

already do a lot for the next generation of roofers but today they very kindly donated timber, roofing tiles and bricks for the children at The Orange ToolBox. They also handed us a bag and box of tools and PPE equipment generously donated by ! How blessed are we to have such amazing local businesses that want to help The Orange ToolBox pass on invaluable practical life skills to children.

Legends!! Please do give them a follow because they genuinely do their best to help youngsters progress in the trade. We need more construction companies such as Clarke Roofing that give a lot of their time to apprenticeships, passing on their invaluable skills and knowledge in their industry. Travis Perkins are also ensuring that their future clients are taken care off by supporting us and indeed allowing the children here to have the chance to develop skills with the right tools.
