To empower women to take back control during midlife and menopause, to build body confidence and to offer a safe space with other like-minded women to share their goals and to give them the support to achieve them. Good news, the one off prescription charge for HRT will be in place from 1st April so women in England can access HRT every month without having to pay every time.

This is a great step forward and thanks to everyone who has campaigned and signed the Menopause Mandate petition to make this happen.

It is 'World Menopause Day' and today is a worldwide awareness call for women who face health issues when approaching, during and beyond the menopause.

Every woman will go through the menopause. Some women sail through it, other women have mild to moderate symptoms, and some women have their lives completely changed by it as their symptoms are so severe it prevents them going about their normal routines on a daily basis....

For the fact that EVERY women goes through the Menopause, it still astounds me how little we are prepared for it, what little help or support there is, and how many women get fobbed off when they go and seek medical help and support. Even though more recently, changes are happening within the medical profession and in the workplace, but more still needs to be done!

🦴 Did you know that women can lose up to 20% of their bone density of the first 5-7 years after menopause.

🙅🏼‍♀️ Did you know 25% of women consider leaving their job due to menopause

💊 Did you know that nearly 40% of menopausal women are being prescribed antidepressants to help manage their symptoms instead of being offered medication or support directly linked to menopause

I only know too well how life changing the menopause can be as it totally threw my life and my families life upside down
BUT...help is at hand ladies🔥

We totally believe in celebrating each other's successes here at MenoHealth and CVB Balanced Health, no matter how large or small that 'WIN' may be. But lately, the 'WINS' seem to be taking in huge proportions from all our ladies!

A special 'shout-out' is to a special person this week. I am so very proud of this lovely lady who attends our 'Face to Face' MenoClass each week. Her dedication, resilience, determination and outstanding effort is awe-inspiring!

CVB Balanced Health is really excited to announce that we have
now included 'Romans Handcrafted Luxury Fragrances' in our Health and Wellbeing Business and this is how it can help support women's health.

We know that to achieve physical well-being, you also need to achieve a sense of positive mental health and tapping into our five senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and touch plays such an important part in gaining a sense of wellness around oneself. We speak a lot about making time for 'YOU' and this is even more important when tackling health issues, such as menopausal symptoms.

Recently we have done a lot of work in trialling different products and techniques, especially surrounding the sense of smell. One that has helped women achieve a sense of wellness and relaxation, is using fragrances around the home. Once you read the 'Romans' story on our group page, you will know why we had to include them in our range.

Did you know that Sage has a high level of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties?

For women going through peri-menopause and menopause, Sage can help reduce sweating as it contains oestrogenic substances that help relieve hot flushes and night sweats. It is also reported to be able to lift mood.

Sage can be taken in the form of tea, capsules and as an essential oil.

However word of caution, Sage should not be taken by women who are trying to conceive during perimenopause as it can instigate and strengthen periods.

Did you know that Ginseng, which is a slow-growing plant with fleshy roots, have been known to help boost mood?

Ginseng can also help with general well-being and help boost libido!

Red Ginseng, in particular, can be very beneficial for the relief of some menopausal symptoms.

Ginseng can be taken in a form of tea, powder, dried herbs and capsules.

However word of caution, Ginseng should be avoided by those on blood thinning medication or who have diabetes.

Let's talk about Herbal Remedies and Menopause!

Over the next few days, we will be posting about Alternative Remedies and Complementary Medicines, and how they can support women going through peri-menopause/menopause.

Did you know that Red Clover is a herbaceous species of flowering plant that has four oestrogenic isoflavones and often comes in tablet form under the trade name Promensil?

Red Clover is commonly used for women who are not taking HRT and is an alternative remedy to improve night sweats and hot flushes.

Red Clover can also be used to treat some breathing and skin issues.

However word of caution, Red Clover is not recommended if you are being treated for kidney or liver issues.
