What the river taught me at the Jungle Ashram in Rishikesh:

The river doesn't try to reach the ocean.

It simply moves and eventually, it arrives.

Rishikesh taught me something about nervous systems this week. About flow. About what happens when you finally stop trying to redirect the current.

Full essay in my blog. Link in bio.

Not much more to say!!! We NEED our sleep.

Personal if I don't sleep well I feel like crap!!!

Most people track sleep scores, hours, grogginess.

That tells you what happened.

It doesn’t tell you why.

I’m not watching the outputs.

I’m watching what’s driving them.

That’s a different question entirely.

You don't suddenly become wired at night. You arrive that way!!

If you're exhausted but can't switch off this is why. Most people are trying to fix their sleep when sleep isn't the problem. It's a symptom. Watch this before you try another supplement, another routine, or another 'sleep hack.'

The shift that actually works starts much earlier in the day than you think

I went to India thinking something out there needed to change.

What I realised was far more confronting: It wasn’t the world creating the pressure, it was the way my system was holding it.

That changed everything.

Happy World Sleep Day!

Most people think sleep problems start at night.

They don’t.

These two screenshots show the same person, two different days.

Same bedtime.
Same routine.
Same number of hours in bed.

But one key variable changed:
The state of the nervous system going into the night.
On a stressful day, HRV dropped meaning the body’s recovery capacity was lower.
On a calmer, more regulated day, HRV rose and the system recovered more easily.

This is why so many high-functioning people feel confused about their sleep.

They try to fix the night:
• better sleep hygiene
• supplements
• breathing apps
• earlier bedtimes

All these things matter, but sleep is rarely just a night-time problem.

It’s a system stability problem.

If the nervous system is carrying strain into the evening, the body doesn’t fully power down and recovery becomes fragile.

Which is why the real question often isn’t:
“How do I sleep better?”
It’s:
“What state is my system in before I even get to bed?”

Sleep is the outcome.
Stability is the cause.

Most people think sleep problems are about sleep.

But what I see again and again is something deeper:
a nervous system that never fully downshifts.

When the body is running in subtle fear, pressure, or vigilance, the system contracts. Breathing becomes shallow. The mind stays alert. True rest becomes difficult.

My work today is focused on restoring internal stability helping the body move from constant activation into a state where deep sleep, energy, and clear thinking become possible again.

Breath is one of the fastest ways to begin that shift.

Because when the breath expands, so does the nervous system’s sense of safety.

And everything changes from there.

For years I thought I was helping people fix their sleep.
Now I understand I restore the system that allows sleep, clarity, and resilience to happen.

My work has evolved beyond “sleep tips” into Internal Stability — recalibrating the nervous system, energy architecture, and invisible thresholds that determine how we show up in life and leadership. When the system stabilises, everything changes.

I’m deeply passionate about changing the way we think about sleep.

Most people believe they have a sleep problem. In reality, they often have a nervous system regulation problem. Sleep is not something you force with routines, supplements, or discipline — it’s something that happens when the system feels safe, regulated, and biologically aligned.

When I speak about sleep, I’m not talking about hacks. I’m talking about recovery, rhythm, HRV, emotional load, digestion, performance, and stability. Because when the nervous system stabilises, sleep follows — and so does clarity, resilience, and sustainable energy.

Same person.
Two different nervous systems.

On the left:
• Suppressed recovery
• Low HRV
• Fragmented sleep
• Elevated strain

Wired. Compensating. Performing — but not restoring.

On the right:
• Strong recovery
• Higher HRV
• Stable sleep
• Sustainable strain

Regulated. Restoring. Clear.

Nothing changed externally.
Same life. Same responsibilities.

What changed was the system.

This is why I don’t “fix sleep.”
I stabilise the nervous system that allows sleep to happen.

Sleep is not the problem.
It’s the signal.

Today I spent time at our school as President of Helping Hands for India, sitting with the children, listening, learning, and being reminded of something very simple and very powerful.

Change doesn’t always come from grand gestures. Often, it comes from showing up. From giving what we can — time, attention, kindness, or support — and doing it consistently.

These children don’t need saving; they need believing in. They need steady care, education, and the quiet reassurance that someone, somewhere, is choosing them.

If all you have is time, it matters.
If you’re able to give a small amount each month — even something as modest as $15 — it truly adds up and makes a real difference in daily school life.

We can all make a difference, if we choose.
And today, I felt deeply grateful to be reminded of that.
