The 1st of December marks World AIDS Day.
Today we stand with people living with HIV, remember those we’ve lost to AIDS, challenge stigma, and commit to compassionate, inclusive care for everyone. Every patient. Every time.
Modern treatment means people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives, and those on effective medication cannot pass the virus on. But there is still work to be done, from challenging misconceptions to supporting early testing and ensuring no one is left behind.
As healthcare workers, we can help break down stigma, provide safe and confident care, and recognise the progress that’s been made in testing, prevention, and treatment. World AIDS Day is not only a moment of remembrance, but a chance to learn, reflect, and recommit to compassionate practice.
