Cothan Wellbeing

Cothan Wellbeing Professional, accredited coaching to help you live better in challenging times.

When you are experiencing personal or professional challenges, or are juggling ongoing pressures, it can sometimes feel as if you are trapped in your situation with little room for manoeuvre. Whilst this can be frustrating and exhausting in the short-term, over time, if left unchecked, it can negatively impact on your wellbeing - affecting your home life, your relationships and your performance at work or in educational settings.

Cothan was created because we passionately believe that it shouldn’t be like this, particularly given that 25% of people in the UK are likely to experience anxiety or depression each year (Mind UK). Whilst we can’t offer treatment for conditions such as these, our mission is to help you negotiate challenges effectively before they become significant problems, and to support you in creating lasting changes in your life that will enable you to move beyond your current circumstances in positive ways. Through professional and accredited coaching (or mentoring for young people), we work with you to explore your situation, enabling you to approach it from a new, more informed perspective. We also support you to develop your own strengths and resources so that you can navigate both current and future challenges more effectively, and help you to clarify and achieve goals that are important to you going forward. Additionally, we offer certified mindfulness skills training to help you manage everyday stressors and find calm and space in your life, regardless of how busy it is. When you use our services, you will also be helping to give something back as your support enables us to offer our mentoring services free of charge to disadvantaged and vulnerable young adults. We also donate 5% of our profits to charities that support these groups.

For an informal chat about how we can support you, or to book your free introductory session, simply send us a message or give us a call on 01684 311628 or 07837 275387 - we'll be happy to help.

Contrary to popular belief, anxiety is a completely normal response to challenging situations or events. However, there are also things we can do to help ourselves in stressful times in order to stop anxiety from getting the better of us.

This short video from the British Psychological Society has some great ideas, and even though it focuses on sports/performance contexts, the strategies can also be used in our everyday lives.

Hope you find it helpful.

Whilst coronavirus has presented significant challenges for us all in different ways, a recent survey by the Prince's Trust suggests that one in every four 16 to 24 year olds has struggled to cope during the pandemic, with more than half reporting that they often or always feel anxious. This is a grim finding, particularly at a time when mental health services for young people are stretched to their limit.

However, whilst we can't offer clinical treatment for mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression, we can provide support for this age group in these difficult times, helping them to strengthen their own coping resources and deal with current challenges in more effective ways, so that they hopefully don't become major issues in the long run.

There is currently no formal charge for these services, although we do ask for a contribution based on what you think our services are worth to you, as well as what you can afford. This helps us to keep our services running for the benefit of everyone, and also allows us to offer them free of charge to vulnerable or disadvantaged young people, who would otherwise not be able to access mentoring support.

For more information, please get in touch.

We passionately believe that coaching support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of your situation or circumstances. However, with professional coaching often costing upwards of £100 per hour, this simply isn't possible for many people.

Therefore, during the coronavirus pandemic, we are not formally charging for our services - however, we do ask for a donation for each session, based on what our services are worth to you, as well as what you can afford. This enables us to keep our services running for the benefit of everyone, and also allows us to offer them free of charge to disadvantaged or vulnerable young people during these difficult times.

For more info about our services, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
