Life has been lifing.

There’s nothing I know to be more true about myself than the fact that I am grateful to be a mother.

But it can feel relentless sometimes.

Motherhood is just an ongoing contradiction.

I need to sleep but I’ll miss holding her in my arms in the peacefulness of 2am.
I need to see my friends and feel more myself but I feel so guilty for missing bedtime.
I love my career and what I do but I still cry after some of the harder drop-offs.
My friendships are hanging on by a thread but I don’t have time to reply.
I should prioritise some time for myself and do something I enjoy, but when I get to it I’m too tired to leave the sofa.
Our family unit thrives in routine but it can feel repetitive and boring some days.

Plus, there’s the chaos that ensues when anything not planned for happens like kids’ sickness, childcare not being possible, or in our case a bloody roof leak…

I’m shattered but in love.
Everyone says these will be the days we miss.
But pressure to enjoy it all is just another thing to add to my long to-do list.

When I thought about starting a mum & baby class, it was for all those reasons above šŸ‘† because when you come together and hear other parents having these
same struggles/feelings/thoughts a little weight is lifted šŸ’•

Always happy to chat mum stuff, non-mum stuff and hold your baby while you do your lunges when you coming along to Warrior Fit: Mum & Baby

Thank you & for this šŸ“ø

At Amber Wellbeing we don’t mind who you are, if you’re non-judgemental and happy to laugh it off (normally at me!) then you’re welcome 🧔

Beginners and newbies to Amber Wellbeing are always welcome; I’ll do my best to make you feel comfortable whether you're coming to Warrior Fit or yoga.

Don’t be put off by the overly-perfect (female dominated!) images you see in the media of yoga and barre, or by that one class you tried ten years ago. Every teacher is different and each class is different!

And if I’m not the teacher for you, I can point you in the direction of some fantastic classes locally!

See you on the mat, Naomi šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ¦°

What is Warrior Fit by Amber Wellbeing? Let me tell you more... šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø 🩰

This new class brings together powerful yoga-inspired moves with the faster pace of time at the barre. A class with music and burn, as well as all the wellness wisdom we've learnt from yoga. In summary, a fitness focused blend of yoga and barre šŸ”„

These weekly classes are all about moving our bodies, getting the heart pumping, feeling a burn and, most importantly, having fun!

Warrior Fit classes run weekly on Monday evenings 7.00pm at The Key Centre, Elvetham Heath, and there's a mum & baby version each Thursday in town too!

You don't need to be a dancer (I'm certainly not!) or a yoga expert, just come along with a sense of humour and desire to feel those thighs burn!

Oh, and although the pics are all women, I can say one of my WF regulars is a guy šŸ‘¦ Men are most welcome and should not underestimate the power of being at the barre!

If you want to ask any questions before booking, just let me know 😊

I look forward to introducing more of you to this new session very soon, Naomi x

Are you looking for a class where you can exercise AND bring your baby? Let me introduce you to Warrior Fit: Mum & Baby šŸ‘¶

"Naomi's Warrior Fit class was a great opportunity as a mum looking to exercise and take my baby along. The class was challenging (in a good way) but Naomi explained sand showed all moves really clearly so all levels of experience could be involved" 🫶

A fitness-focused blend of yoga and barre by Amber Wellbeing, with a side of nappy changing, cuddles and feeding.

My own life has been wrapped up around pregnancy, babies and small humans for 5 years now, and that’s why I love running this class! Parenthood is a tough gig, full of emotion (all of them!), abundant and loving, and some days a total sh*tshow!

And through it all movement has been a tonic to the chaos but let’s face it finding time to wash my hair, let alone get in a workout, is the hardest part of this crazy puzzle…. So come, bring your babies, get a workout in, chat to other parents and leave feeling like you’ve had a little bit of ā€˜you’ time (even with the baby in tow).

Q: Who can attend?
Carers of babies. Post birth parents, non birth parents, adoptive parents, mums, dads, guardians. It’s called mum and baby because I’ve gotta think about the searches results (šŸ™„) but I welcome everyone who’s in those early stages of caring for a small human. Babies from 6 weeks to crawling.

Q: When & where?
DFA Studios, Albert Street. 11am each Thursday

Q: Can I book pay-as-you-go?
Due to the studio size and the interest in this class already, I have currently only opened month-long course bookings this month. I will review availability later this month.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE (the boring bits)
~ Post birth parents must have attended their 6 week post natal check and be signed off to exercise before attending Amber Wellbeing’s Warrior Fit: Mum & Baby.
~ All participants must attend with a child (maximum 2 children per adult).
~ Babies from 6 weeks - crawling are welcome. Parents are solely responsible for their child when attending an Amber Wellbeing Warrior Fit: Mum & Baby class.

Message me with any questions!

I can’t wait to welcome you in 🄰

Two thousand and sixteen.

A year of travels, celebrations, friends and love.

We had no idea about the high highs and deep lows that would follow in the next decade.

Also, 2016 was 10 years ago?! 🤯

I say it every year and I'll say it again... there is no 'new year, new me' vibes over at Amber Wellbeing!

Not because I don't believe in positive changes to our health, wealth and wellbeing but because January, in my opinion, is no time for big changes, added pressure or feeling bad about yourself when you ā€˜fail’.

January is dark and cold. The days are short. It’s still deep winter! We are meant to be taking our cues from nature. Keep it manageable, rest often and do what makes you feel good, and don’t over burden yourself with impossible New Year’s resolutions this year if that’s not what motivates you; certainly don’t worry about everyone else.

A few manageable January goals that will positively impact body and mind

šŸ’¦Stay hydrated. With cold weather, and frequent changes from cold to warm environments our skin can suffer and it’s easy to forget to drink any water when it’s so cold. So more water, herbal (decaffeinated) teas and hot water with lemon.
šŸ„‘ Eat more plants. Think fruits, vegetables, beans, wholegrains, oats… every additional portion will be beneficial, even if it’s followed up by some of that leftover Christmas chocolate!
šŸŒ™Prioritise sleep. If you’re in the thick of it with young children and sleep is non-existent just know I see you – this goal isn’t for you, but your day will come. To the rest of you, put down your phone, turn off that ā€˜just one more’ episode on your Netflix binge and get to bed! Winter is for resting, replenishing and recuperating.
šŸ¤øā€ā™€ļø Move everyday. Maybe it’s formal exercise at the gym, at a yoga class, or following an online lesson. Maybe it’s walking the dog, a dance party with the kids or doing 20 squats while you brush your teeth. Whatever it is, make movement work for you and your routine. Move consistently everyday in some way or another. It’s a gift to yourself.

I don’t like new year’s resolutions every much if you haven’t already guessed but this year I plan to spend less time on my phone, enjoy more books and carve some time out for just me, for me to do Naomi things, without being wrapped in mum guilt. Slow and steady. Starting with not looking at my phone at bedtimešŸ“µ

And why the business name Amber Wellbeing? 🧔

Let me explain…
⠀⠀
~ Amber is a natural purifier, it's said to absorb negative energy and stimulate self-healing⠀⠀
~ Amber symbolises a clear mind and balanced emotions ⠀⠀
~ Amber instils self confidence & encourages self-expression
~ Amber is orange. ⠀⠀
~ Orange in yoga symbolises creativity, transformation, self-awareness and intuition, emotion and the Sacral chakra (yoga talk!)
~ Orange to me is sky-lighting sunrises & deep sunsets, autumn leaves, Aperol spritz, a dash of colour on a grey day and warmth.

Also, orange is the colour of my hair šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø

I'm not a fancy-pants, can-do-all Insta yoga teacher. Sometimes I get my left and right wrong (alright, often). I try to be professional at all times but the kid's hummus on my sweatshirt may send off a different message. I'm living the same experiences, juggling the same tasks and trying to keep the same promises to myself that many of my attendees are.

I'm very good at what I do how I do it.

I hope to see you on the mat,
Naomi x
