There are always ways to take mindful moments in nature and this afternoon I was really grateful to be invited along to Rookery Wood in Swanwick by the Swanwick Wildlife Group to give people a little taster of Forest Bathing.
It was really calming to watch the reflections and raindrops on the water. It felt good to just pause there for a moment — the rain dimpling the surface, gently shifting the reflections of the trees. Nothing complicated, just water, weather, and the quiet steadiness of nature.

The moon tried its hardest to come out from behind the clouds for us at this evening’s Moon Bathing session. But even with the cloud cover it managed to give us enough light to see without our red light head torches. We discovered a whole stampede of fluorescing caterpillars under the ultra violet light and enjoyed the stillness of the woods after all of the earlier rain. A wonderful way to spend an evening 🌕 😁

For 2026 our Women Gathering sessions will bring you 4 hours of connection in the woods! From 10am-2pm we will gather for moments of calm, moments of laughter and moments of deep connection.
✨ Beginning with Forest Bathing, followed by preparing and cooking a lunch together at the campfire. We then offer a simple nature based craft to try if you'd like to before ending our time together with opportunity to reflect. There's time to chat or relax in the hammocks - the time is yours.

Free session takes place on Sunday 11th January at Shaw Wood Oakerthorpe.
Places are restricted to a maximum of 8, so reserve your place now.

Turns out that a team of fire fighters are here to practice theirs! Thank goodness for that - plus, entertainment whilst the kettle boils today 😁
