Health Improvement Team Moray Welcome to the Health Improvement Team Moray page.

The Health Improvement Team aims to enable people and communities to improve their health and wellbeing by addressing the wider determinants of health. We do this through supporting the Moray Health and Social Care Partnership in embedding prevention and health improvement as part of its core business. We collaborate with our partners in the planning and implementation of health improvement activities, based on an understanding of the local population needs. We actively work to improve the circumstances which have an impact on health such as poverty, housing, education and employment, in order to create the conditions for individuals and communities to improve their own health and reduce inequalities. If you notice changes in your vision, get in touch with your local optometrist (optician) right away to book an appointment. Some people are eligible for help towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses, following a free NHS eye examination.

⭐ NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - Re-engage! ⭐️

We’re launching a new volunteer service to support older people across Moray - and we need you to make it happen! 🙏🏻

Re-engage is all about giving people the confidence to manage life on their own, in their own way. 💪🏻
Volunteers offer short-term support, lending a hand with everyday tasks that can make a big difference - like showing someone how to set up online shopping so they can do it confidently on their own, helping them take the first steps through the door of a new group or activity, or simply having a chat over a cuppa.

You choose how and when you can help - whether it’s weekly visits or occasional support shared with other volunteers.

💛 A role where you make a real difference in someone’s life - and feel good doing it
🕰️ Flexible commitment - 2-3 hours weekly or whenever you can.
🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️ Age 18+
🚗 Driving not essential but can be helpful (travel expenses covered)
🎓Great for upskilling, building confidence and Saltire Award hours
🫱🏻‍🫲🏾 Fully supported by our volunteer team
