Firstly we would like to thank all those patients with your positive experiences we appreciate it hugely for those not so positive ones lets run through just a few of our daily tasks with you at Throckley Pharmacy
*We prepare over 270 weekly medipacks to patients every week.
*We prepare on average of 2,400 monthly medicines to go out on our "free delivery" service daily along with 23,000 items for collection.
*We are constantly ringing suppliers with medicine shortages, spending hours per week on the phone which can hold up our telephone line, we do not just ignore it! Then having to deal with irate patients because of this.
*We are forever speaking with GP surgeries to request alternative medicines for those shortages which again increases our workload and delays prescriptions arriving to us.
*We don't just cover the Throckley area and of those waiting in the pharmacy, we cover Newburn, NBH, Lemington, Chapel house/Park, Walbottle, Westerhope, Blucher, Wylam, Ponteland/Darras Hall and Heddon on the wall.
*We offer many services including blood pressure checks, NMS, stop smoking, Minor Ailments, UTI and vaccinations. Our Pharmacy First Service enables pharmacists to supply prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics and antivirals where clinically appropriate, to treat seven common health conditions without the need to visit a GP. This takes time for all these consultations with patients each day on a' walk-in' basis and no need for appointments.
You maybe the only one present in the pharmacy at the time but there is so much more going on behind the scenes. We are under so much pressure but are not standing around twiddling our thumbs like some suggest, We are run off our feet on a daily basis. Please be kind and have a bit more respect. We are trying our best 🙏
If you are not happy with our service remember that you are free to take your prescription to any pharmacy you wish. Just inform your surgery of your desire to have your prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choice.
