This is an update to industry guidance previously issued in August 2023 and increases the age threshold as a means of reducing the food safety risk to children.

FSS also continues to advise that free refill promotions should not be offered to children under 10 years to prevent them from being exposed to excessive amounts of glycerol.

Food Standards Scotland has issued updated advice to help prevent young children from being exposed to excessive amounts of glycerol:

• children under 7 should not consume slush-ice drinks
• no refills should be given to children under 10
• always check at-home kits for glycerol, glycerine or E422.

Urgent Peanut Allergy Alert Update from the Food Standards Agency

The FSA are advising those with an allergy to peanuts, and parents and carers of children who have a peanut allergy, not to consume foods or drinks that contain or may contain mustard, mustard powder or mustard flour due to a risk of contamination with peanuts.

It was refreshing to hear about Fountain Juice Bar’s plans for catering at the monthly Moray Business Women meet up at Greenbrae Steading.

Fountain Juice Bar has dietary needs as top priority, the words that caught my attention were ‘The easy way to eat better’ but more so ‘What do I want? (Not what can I have?)’. Looking forward to trying out more of the amazing food.
