Forever grateful I rejected chasing perfection and chose to direct my energy into accepting myself.

Those memories with my mum are special.

They simply would not have been as special with a lack of presence and enjoyment.

I used to be exhausted from going above and beyond all the time.

Just being me wasn't enough.

I had to do more to ensure I was liked, respected and needed.

At its core was a desire to be seen as important. To feel heard and understood.

I now give myself permission to decide my level of importance. I don't seek it through my actions.

From that headspace, you can finally step back and let others help. You can be honest about how you feel without the fear of rejection looming heavy.

It was a revelation to realise I was enough just as I was. Life became wildly better for it.

Oof the sting of rejection.

Here is how the power of 'something else' reduces the power of the sting.

What comes next doesn't need to be bigger or bolder. That pressure isn't necessary.

But it WILL be something else.

There are lessons in every single rejection and failure. Opportunities to reassess, adjust, and pivot.

And when you hold a deep knowing that it's just a matter of time before the 'something else' will happen, you are much better able to dust yourself off, Reset and continue.
