Sugar. Seed oils. They can affect how calm your mind feels.
It’s easy to assume it’s just stress, burnout, or “how you are.”
But what you eat daily can influence how your body feels internally - including energy, clarity, and mental calm.
High sugar intake can create repeated blood sugar spikes and crashes, which may contribute to energy swings, irritability, and difficulty sustaining focus.
Highly processed seed oils, especially in ultra-processed foods and when repeatedly heated, can add to oxidative stress in the body - one of the processes linked with low-grade inflammation.
What some people notice when they reduce these for 1–2 weeks:
A calmer, less “wired” feeling in the body
More steady energy through the day
Less mental noise or overwhelm
Easier focus without as much effort
A general sense of “slowing down” internally.
Why this matters: When the body is under less metabolic stress, many people describe feeling like their system is less reactive - and the mind can feel clearer and calmer as a result.
Important:
This isn’t about diagnosing or treating anything.
It’s about noticing how everyday nutrition can influence how regulated and calm you feel.
Simple shift:
Cut out sugar
Cut out ultra-processed foods
Use simpler, whole-food fats more often
Sometimes “calm of mind” isn’t something you force… it’s something that returns when the body is less overloaded.
