Sleep is vital for our well-being, but for many neurodivergent individuals, getting a good night’s rest can feel like a challenge.

Working with our partners Hunrosa - 'to dream', we have created a number of resources on our WaitingWell website to help those who are significantly more likely to experience sleep difficulties than neurotypical individuals.

You can find some tips to help you and your family navigate sleep challenges at www.waitingwell.co.uk/sleeping-well-tips-for-neurodivergent-minds/

Every autistic person’s journey is unique...

At The Owl Centre, we celebrate that. After an autism diagnosis, it’s natural to have questions about what comes next: daily life, friendships, school, or work. That’s where we come in.

Our therapists create safe, supportive spaces for children, young people, and adults to explore, understand, and grow. No two families are the same, so we shape therapy around what matters most to you - through play, creativity, reflection, and real-life strategies that make a genuine difference.

Did you know many ADHD individuals mask their natural traits - often without even realising?

Masking (or camouflaging) means consciously or unconsciously hiding behaviours to appear “neurotypical.”

It can look like:

• Mimicking social behaviours
• Rehearsing conversations
• Forcing eye contact
• Suppressing stimming or fidgeting
• Pushing through sensory discomfort

While these strategies help people “fit in,” they can seriously affect diagnosis. You can find out more about how masking affects ADHD assessments at www.waitingwell.co.uk/how-masking-affects-autism-and-adhd-assessments/
