“WEIGHT”
-
While WEIGHT might be a relative measure for MOST, it isn’t necessarily the most reliable for a number of reasons... (see second image in slide).
-
1. Fluctuations - your weight will fluctuate (increase and decrease) from day to day. I often hear people say “I’m down 3lbs in a day!”
-
NO, you’re not. You’ve likely ate less, worked out and sweat, are holding on to less water due to lower sodium intake on your new “diet” and had a decent 💩
-
2. Change in ‘composition’ - in simplest terms; muscle mass 🔺, body fat 🔻, weight THE SAME.
-
3. It is absolutely ✨IRRELEVANT✨ - what if I told you that you could look exactly how you’d like, but you’d be 10lbs heavier than your goal weight...
-
You’d take it right? Of course you would... you’ve just obsessed over X number because you believe you’d look a certain way at X number.
-
“But I used to be X weight😥”
-
Okay, you did... but that was when you were 16, you’re not 16 anymore. You’re 36. A LOT has changed.
-
Focus less on a number, focus on how you feel, how you move and how you look, IN THAT ORDER.
-
In conclusion, if you’re OVERWEIGHT, yes, you probably will decrease in Bodyweight in the pursuit of becoming healthier, but weight isn’t the be all and don’t let it be.
-
Feel good, move well and look great. -
