7 YEARS! 7 years with the most amazing, thoughtful and precious lady on this planet. I’d be a much different person if it wasn’t for this girl. Although you’re a little crazy, I wouldn’t want you any other way. You’re the best!

(4th photo is how the 7 years really feels…)

Understanding Training Intensity…
-
Training intensity refers to the level of effort a person exerts during exercise relative to his or her maximum effort.
-
Whether you train at 100% 3-4 times per week, or at 70% 5-7 times per week. It first and foremost HAS to work for YOU.
-
There is no right or wrong, but if you’re heading to the gym 2-3 times per week, training at 60-70% intensity, it’s unlikely you’ll achieve the results you’re after (most of the time).
-
Also, if you’re currently training 5-7 times per week, at a pretty high intensity but not allowing yourself the time to rest and recover, you’re also likely doing yourself a disservice.

Reebok Nano vs. Nike Metcon ⚖️
-
If you’re looking for a new training shoe, an upgrade from your regular gym/running trainer, then look no further than the above 2.
-
But, which is better?
-
Personally, I do find the nanos more comfortable, and slightly better for ‘wider footed’ individuals.
-
They were immediately comfortable whereas my metcon took quite a few wears for them to become worn in and soften a little.
-
Oppositely, I prefer the size, shape and look of the metcon (purely aesthetic) as they’re a little less ‘clunky’ than the nano.
-
The metcons also have a few extra aspects which make them a great CrossFit-ty specific shoe. The additional instep wedge for increased heel elevation. The plastic heel guard for HSPU against a wall. The heightened inner sole for rope climbs. All aspects that a moderately advanced gym-goer would not really reap the benefits of.
-
All in all, they both have their benefits and I think it would be tough to say one is better then another, but it’s somewhat completely down to preference and suitability.

“WEIGHT”
-
While WEIGHT might be a relative measure for MOST, it isn’t necessarily the most reliable for a number of reasons... (see second image in slide).
-
1. Fluctuations - your weight will fluctuate (increase and decrease) from day to day. I often hear people say “I’m down 3lbs in a day!”
-
NO, you’re not. You’ve likely ate less, worked out and sweat, are holding on to less water due to lower sodium intake on your new “diet” and had a decent 💩
-
2. Change in ‘composition’ - in simplest terms; muscle mass 🔺, body fat 🔻, weight THE SAME.
-
3. It is absolutely ✨IRRELEVANT✨ - what if I told you that you could look exactly how you’d like, but you’d be 10lbs heavier than your goal weight...
-
You’d take it right? Of course you would... you’ve just obsessed over X number because you believe you’d look a certain way at X number.
-
“But I used to be X weight😥”
-
Okay, you did... but that was when you were 16, you’re not 16 anymore. You’re 36. A LOT has changed.
-
Focus less on a number, focus on how you feel, how you move and how you look, IN THAT ORDER.
-
In conclusion, if you’re OVERWEIGHT, yes, you probably will decrease in Bodyweight in the pursuit of becoming healthier, but weight isn’t the be all and don’t let it be.
-
Feel good, move well and look great. -

If you’ve been working out/health conscious for over a year, and you HAVEN’T heard of MyFitnessPal...
-
I’d love to visit the rock that you call home...
-
I had a consult with a prospect client the other day and they hadn’t heard of “MFP”
-
Now, I’m not suggesting that you should use MFP to track every milligram of food you eat, but it’s certainly a great tool if used correctly!
-
A relaxed approach to using MFP can 100% be effective and can 100% be useful for helping you achieve your fat loss/weight gain goals.
-
Track smartly...

Training is in a good place right now... .fitness
-
I attribute that 100% to training in a gym that I don’t work in 6-days a week.
-
Not only that, but the guys there do a great job of pushing me.
-
If you’re looking to join a group-training orientated facility, look no further...

Believe me, Google is GREAT. But... is it enough? (peep the fancy slide work😎)
-
There isn’t a secret recipe to training... it’s relatively straight forward.
-
Complicated if you want it to be, but if you’re reading this, you probably don’t want it to be.
-
You can google “best exercise for a toned stomach”
-
And no doubt you’ll get some bullsh*t YouTube video telling you to do 8 million sit-ups every day.
-
But there is quality out there! It’s just finding it, separating the fact from the fiction and applying that information correctly.
-
(most) COACHES provide a service far beyond a training program.
-
Accountability and support being the most valuable.
-
Google won’t check in on you, I will.
