SWF Health & Social Care Group

SWF Health & Social Care Group April 2016 it was agreed by SWF Healthcare 2000 Group (SWFHC2000) and SWF Town Council (SWFTC) to form the new SWF Health & Social Care Group

As Essex has moved out of Lockdown2 into Tier 2 for COVID-19, SWF Health & Social Care Group continues to work collaboratively with the Town’s GPs and Pharmacists. We also answer referrals from the national GoodSAM, Essex Wellbeing & Chelmsford Community Support Services. We’re glad the last month seems to have stopped the growth in cases of this terrible virus, and the NHS continues to cope with all other needs. Thanks to Chelmsford Community Hub/CVS we have emergency resources for the next few months; since 23 March we’ve delivered over 4450 tasks. The approval of the first Covid vaccination is great news; plans are being made for the delivery of this for our area and arrangements will be announced shortly. We’re providing health & social care support, information and signposting to patients & people in SWF and surrounds who are at risk, isolating & staying at home, and are without a local support network. If you need help or have queries about any local health and social care issues you may find relevant information on our website https://swfhealthsocial.co.uk/ ; if you need help or information please don’t hesitate to contact us on swfhealthsocial@outlook.com . For those without internet access a voicemail can be left on the Chair’s work line 01245 322079 which is monitored daily. Best wishes to everyone; Hands-Face-Space; stay safe, protect our NHS, save lives.

Your NHS is closer than you think this winter – 24 hours not in A&E

As winter pressures increase and local NHS services experience higher demand, we are asking everyone to play their part by using services wisely. Please remember: A&E is for life-threatening emergencies or serious injuries only. NHS services work best when everyone chooses the right option for their needs, helping ensure emergency teams can focus on those who need them most....

An update from SWF Health & Social Care Group

CQC rated the Leadership at Mid &South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT), which runs our hospitals at Broomfield, Basildon & Southend, inadequate after an Inspection in May. We’ve asked the Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) and Governors of MSEFT why they didn’t identify and address the inadequacies before CQC found them and if they are now considering their positions? Commissioners MSE Integrated Care Board said: “The issues identified by CQC, including cultural and leadership weaknesses, are now subject to an urgent improvement plan overseen by the Trust and NHS England’s East of England regional team, with the ICB actively monitoring delivery and supporting system recovery....

Antibiotics Awareness Week 💊

This week marks Antibiotic Resistance Awareness Week, an important moment to reflect on how we can all help protect our health and the health of our communities. Antibiotic resistance – also known as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) – happens when bacteria evolve so that antibiotics no longer work as effectively. This makes common infections harder to treat and increases the risk of serious illness....
