“Difficult and challenging times lead to inspiring change. Sometimes things have to get really bad, before they can be good again”.

I've just been going through some old blogs that were on my old website and decided to republish them on to my current site. If you're feeling down, stressed or stuck at the moment, then this one might be useful for you.

“Difficult and challenging times lead to inspiring change. Sometimes things have to get really bad, before they can be good again”. The above sentence is something I live my life by and often remind myself of when life feels tough. Sometimes when we’re going through particularly challenging ti...

Why can it be so difficult to find love for ourselves? It's one of most important things for good mental health, yet as a society we are taught to put ourselves down. Luckily people are learning there's a better way. This blog post from Marc and Angel is really lovely.

We have to learn to be our own best friends, because sometimes we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies. We love the idea of others loving us, and we forget to love ourselves.

This is why it's so important not to bottle those emotions up!

Scientists believe that crying can make you feel physically and emotionally better.

‘Having a good cry’ is thought to rid the body of toxins and waste products which build up during times of elevated stress – so it’s logical then that a person with PTSD may cry much more often that someone without the condition!

Our founder eventually developed psoriasis under her eyes from crying so much - it can be a helpful release and quite debilitating at the same time.

Find out more about why PTSD makes some people cry more, (and how it can actually help you) here: ptsduk.org/why-does-ptsd-make-you-cry/

Of course, PTSD affects people differently, for some people, they can't cry, even if they want to - our article covers some reasons behind this too.

If you’re ever faced with a big task or challenge, which you’re struggling to comprehend or understand, it’s always good to come away from the situation for a while. For example, if you need to do a presentation at work and you don’t know where to start, firstly just do some reading or research and absorb the information as best you can. Then it's good to go take a break and do something completely different. Usually it’s best if it’s something fun, creative or just relaxing. Our brains are awesome and they continue to work on the problem in the background without our conscious attention. Once you’re relaxed or focused on something else, ideas may start popping up into your mind. And when you come back to working on the challenge again, you should fine that it all flows a lot easier. That’s why it’s always so important to take breaks and rest too! Our brains function so much better. Next time you’re working on something, try giving it a go 😄
