How It All Began.
Elite Memorials UK Ltd is the brainchild of Graeme Ramshaw. After working as a welder and metal fabricator, he become a monumental stonemason. Following an injury to his stomach due to lifting headstones, he imagined the idea of reducing the weight by creating a unique and patented style of hollow headstones and memorials. This would mean making them from materials such as stainless steel, granite or marble, therefore dramatically reducing the weight and making them a much safer alternative for fitting and safer for loved ones visiting the grave side as injuries have been widely reported due too headstones falling over.
These type of memorials are in keeping with traditional styles and keep there integrity if damaged or vandalised. They also offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional solid style memorial and are in keeping with BRAMM installation methods and standards.
Alongside his partner, Rudi Wood, owner of Gibson and Wood Funeral Directors, the couple created a range of different products. These vary from human to pet memorials and are ideal for storing cremated remains, keepsakes and mementos. All items are hollow and lightweight, making them easy to handle, weather resistant and can be a permanent fixture within a cemetery, garden or within the home.
Customisation is also offered, via engraving, and the stainless steel can be etched, anodised or powder coated to suit the customer's requirements at a reasonable price. The National Federation of Funeral Directors is fully endorsing the products and believes that this will revolutionise the way storage of cremated remains and precious keepsakes are kept and treasured.
