Myth: Butter on Burns đ§
The idea of putting butter on a burn was even recommended by Prussian first aid pioneer, General Friedrich Von Esmarch. But Iâm sorry to say, this time he missed the Esmarch.
Just like that joke, using butter for burns isnât great as it retains heat and can increase the risk of infection and scaring.
Whatâs worse â the butter needs to be scrubbed off in hospital before receiving the correct treatment â ouch! đ˘

Wow, time sure does fly. We recently held a get-together at Qualsafe HQ to celebrate this milestone. There was food, a quiz, and a rousing speech from the man who started it all, Nigel Barraclough.
