Body Psychotherapy developed from the work of Wilhelm Reich who was a colleague of Sigmund Freud from 1919. Then further expanded by the work of Lowen, Boysen, Boadella, Southwell, Porges and Siegel among others. The body psychotherapy community now encompasses developments from human relational and attachment psychotherapy theorists and neuroscientists. Encompassing 16 years of working with clients in body psychotherapy and biodynamic massage therapy, Julie continues to provide compassionate and skilled help to people seeking relief from pain and a deeper experience of pleasure and joy in their lives and their relationships. Integrative Body psychotherapy can include talking, exploring movement, imagination, visualisation, gestalt, vegetotherapy and biodynamic massage. Creative collaboration becomes possible between psychotherapist and client through developing and exploring attachment and relationship supportively. Often this shines light on other important relationships and different ways of relating emerge. Short term and long term body psychotherapy is available for individuals wishing to work with Julie in Oxford and London. Biodynamic massage therapy can be experienced as part of body psychotherapy. For people already in psychotherapy with another psychotherapist, it is possible to receive biodynamic massage therapy simultaneously after discussion with your psychotherapist. Often people find biodynamic massage therapy to be a safe and supportive experience enabling them to digest and integrate the emotional work of their psychotherapy. Individuals not wishing to experience psychotherapy can benefit from biodynamic massage therapy as a relaxing and specific treatment for reducing accumulated stress within their body. Attention will be given to how they feel during the session, their breathing and other biofeedback about how they are. Sessions can utilise the various techniques of biodynamic massage which will be specifically tailored for you. The therapy rooms are in quiet and discreet locations and are comfortably furnished safe places, either in central north Oxford or Golders Green in northwest London. Both centres have on street parking and are served by excellent public transport within 5 minutes walk. Sessions are usually for one hour unless negotiated for longer in advance. Please contact Julie Jenner confidentially to arrange an initial consultation. Julie Jenner
