Really excited to be delivering another FREE super practical talk () designed to inspire you to move more without having to find more time, money or motivation. Low investment - high impact! 💥

Few “modern" inventions have a bigger impact on our health than ‘the chair’ 🪑. Most of us spend more time sitting than we do anything else (an average of 9 hours 😫!). We know that sitting too much isn’t great but do you know the true costs to your physical & mental health 🧠 ? What does hours spent in a chair do to your alignment, pelvic floor, breathing, mood, energy to name a few?

Exercising is great but with most of us spending hours in repetitive positions our bodies are not primed to move well when we take it for a run 🏃🏼‍♀️ , play sports ⚽️ or even doing a basic thing like walking 🚶🏽‍♂️ . Not only do you not get the most out of your exercise, you’re also increasing the risk of injury 🤕.

There’s a gap between being sedentary and exercising (i.e. everyday life!) and what you do most of the time has the biggest impact on you. What can you do to sit better, sit less and sit differently? Is the chair actually the best piece of gym equipment in your house? 💪

This is a super practical session perfect for anyone who spends more than a few hours a day sitting (hello everyone!!). This is for YOU if you want to improve your physical & mental health with minimum investment! 🙌

It is definitely NOT an exercise class but you will use your body (if you want to, no pressure). The chair isn’t going anywhere so why not learn to use it to your benefit?

The Pavilion Chichester is a FANTASTIC space. You will quite often find me there doing coaching sessions.

If you haven’t visited you definitely should and coming along to the taster day on Saturday 4th March gives you the perfect opportunity to find out more plus you can sign up to free studio sessions and taster treatment sessions and you will get 20% off in the café where you can try the delicious food and the fabulous Host coffee.

You can sign up to do yoga, legs bums & tums, pilates (Luna Mindful Movement and Core Coaching, Figure 23 (Figure23 Dance), Broadway Boogie (Broadway Boogie Chichester), tai chi and baby massage as well as having mini sessions of electrolysis, reflexology, sport massage and reiki. You can also get mini beauty treatments and hear talks on wellbeing through nature (The Eco Monkey) and psychotherapy. I will also be delivering a talk (at 10am) on the benefits of coaching and how when working with a coach you can be supported in making positive changes in your life. Micro adventures 🤩

Well that was a good day with ! Got the train 🚂 at sunrise 🌄 walked for 15 miles, spent an hour in the sauna & sea 🌊 , had some gorgeous food 🍲(thanks to Dave for a great sauna experience and for the food recommendation!) and then train 🚂 back at sunset 🌅

There’s only 1️⃣ more block of classes for this year and it’s starting next week! As usual for this time of the year we’ll be changing focus and slowing things right down ⬇️. We will spend less time standing up (but we won’t forget about the importance of building bones 🦴 & balance 🤸🏾!) and more time on the floor, re-connecting with our core 🔥 & more. The winter ❄️ is a time to hunker down and restore the body as much as it needs, ready for action again next spring 🌸 !

Slowing things down doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy, often it’s quite the opposite. So whether you want to take it gentle because you’re nursing an injury or you want to work really hard to challenge yourself, this really is the theme that suits everyBODY.

Most classes are full but there’s space on Monday evening online and Tuesday morning 8am The Pavilion, Chichester]

Monday 6.30-7.30pm (Zoom) - £10 per class incl recording (spaces)

Moonlight 🌙 & sunrise 🌅 walk!

Thank you so much to for not only organising this gorgeous walk but also providing homemade banana 🍌 bread & tea ☕️.
Been wanting to join these monthly walks for a while and even though I’m a morning person I still like a slow start on a Sunday morning…

But 💯 % worth the early alarm, couldn’t ask for a better start to day, can’t wait for the next one!

Meet my new, super enthusiastic walking buddy! 🐶

After nearly 1 year without dogs I am finally ready to open my heart again and commit to the huge responsibility it is to look after another little soul ❤️

This gorgeous girl came from a family who could no longer manage her energy levels and sadly had to give her up 😔.

Lucky for me as I was looking for another Spaniel to keep me busy and join me on my daily walks (which will now hopefully be even longer!). I just love their energy and those ears are the softest things ever 🥰

So if you’re local let me know if you want to meet up for a walk or two, it really is one of THE best things you can do for your health 👍

Ready for some regular exercise again?! 😀

Classes are nearly full so don’t hang around, we start next week.

If you’re new to ‘Practical Pilates’ I combine the benefits of Pilates (strength, mobility, body awareness, alignment, relaxation) with movements that our modern lives have made extinct…
After all, as humans we need lots (and lots!) of varied movements to thrive (not just survive!)!

The classes are much more than “just” another exercise class, we focus on movement 🏃🏼‍♀️, mindset 🧠 and lifestyle 🥗! We move, we challenge ourselves, we have a laugh and afterwards we feel epic! 🤩 There are 3 levels so something for everyone.

Are all walks 🚶🏽‍♀️ equal?! NO is the short and sweet answer!

Most of us will accept that we need a varied food diet to be healthy (avocado 🥑 is only healthy as part of a varied diet, if you only ate avo you’d not be very healthy…) and it’s the same with movement. You have to vary your “movement diet” as much as possible to make sure you use all your joints, in all their ranges. Variety is the spice 🍱of life!

Walking is one of THE best FULL body movements you can do, AND if you vary your walk regularly you’ll get even more benefit out of them. Find one with lost of stiles and you can do all sorts of fun stuff!

So, the “nutritional value” your body will get from a simple walk will depend on:
🏃🏾 how fast and how far you walk (that’s obvious)
👖 the clothes you’re wearing (can you move freely?) and in particular your footwear (can your feet 👣 respond to the ground?)
🌳 the terrain you walk on, flat pavement vs. uneven surface in nature
⛰flat or hilly, walking up and down creates more challenge from the ankle up
🐕 dogs on the lead (your arms can’t swing properly)?
🎒 if you’re carrying stuff (lots of different ways to carry things, doesn’t have to be on your back…)

Walking (when done well) is like eating the rainbow 🌈 , it’s SO good for you:
✅it creates all sorts of rhythms that are great for your body AND brain (cognition, memory, creativity, mood, do I need to go on?!
✅it can lower inflammation
✅it can decrease the functional ageing of your brain
✅it can decrease the risk of urinary incontinence
✅its the best way to build bones in your hips & spine (this is key 🔑 if you’re over 30!)

Don’s save your walk for Sundays, get out there every day even if it’s just for a few minutes 🤩
