Athlete's often ask me what else they can do to ensure they are recovering to the best of their ability. A basic one, that so many of us overlook is to improve their SLEEP 😴

Ensuring you get at least 8 hours of QUALITY sleep is so beneficial. It has been shown to:
- improve recovery both physically and mentally,
- improve reaction times and strength,
- reduce the risk of injury
- and perhaps most importantly boosts your mood and motivation!

According to the NHS, 80% of people in the UK are affected by back pain at some point in their lives. However most people don't seek advice or help. With more of us working at home this year, in make shift offices such as at the kitchen table, the sofa or the bed, back pain could become even more prevalent!

Evidence suggests that lower back pain is often related to muscular tension and therefore can be relieved with sports massage! If you struggle with back pain and want to do something about it, why not give it a try?

Delighted that in line with Government guidelines, sports massage therapists are able to return to work from the 13th July.

Unfortunately the Radmoor centre clinic is not yet open, however as of next week I will begin to offer mobile appointments. If you'd like any information on the COVID protocol I will be following, or would like to book in, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With us not being able to get regular sports massage treatment or hands on physio at the moment, what are you doing to help keep yourself in one piece?

I decided to try something new during lockdown to help me stretch each day. A 30 day yoga challenge with Adriene.

At first I found it a little cheesy, but after a couple of days had fully embraced it, and came to really enjoy a little bit of yoga each day. Now I've completed the 30 days, I very much plan to continue practicing yoga!

Each day the length varied, but on average it was 20-25 minutes a day, and all free on youtube. I tried the 'Dedicate' version, but there are several others such as 'True' or 'home' that I'm sure are worthwhile too! If you're looking for inspiration, why not give it a try.

With no sports massages on the horizon,

And so many easter eggs we can't help buy them,

We are doing all the little things we can,

We've walked, we've cycled and we've even ran,

We'd really like to go out and play all day,

But realise that's not likely before some time in May,

So whilst the gyms have shut their doors,

We always find time for core at four

*T's & C's: core may not be at four, frequency throughout the week may vary and duration is changeable. No sam's or Kirsty's were harmed in the making of this video.*

Hi All, in light of the current situation, I have decided to postpone practising for the foreseeable future. However if you would like any advice on self massage, stretching and maintenance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
