Today marks World Cancer Day 2025 and while sadly cancer continues to touch millions of lives in many different ways, advances in treatment and early diagnosis means better outcomes and longterm prognosis for many.

Something else which can make the world of difference is exercise.

I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last few months studying to become a Cancer Exercise Specialist. The course has been extremely challenging, so interesting and incredibly inspiring and has proven to me that, undoubtedly, exercise is hugely beneficial during all stages of the cancer journey to:

✔️boost energy and reduce fatigue
✔️reduce anxiety and boost emotional wellbeing
✔️promote strength and physical function
✔️promote treatment tolerance and manage side effects
✔️lower the risk of recurrence of some cancers

So on World Cancer Day, as we raise awareness, honour those fighting and remember those we’ve lost don’t forget the power of exercise as a tool to help reclaim strength, resilience, control and hope.

Anyone who knows me personally, will know that due to my own personal experiences, I'm a firm advocate in promoting positive mental health through exercise.

Physical activity is one of the most well-documented methods for improving mental health — so much so it's often referred to as Mother Nature's Antidepressant.

Exercise releases endorphins, our “feel-good” hormones, which help to boost mood and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. It’s also been shown to promote better sleep, reduce stress, and support cognitive function — all key factors in supporting mental health!

So whether you prefer the gym, exercise classes, team sports or getting out for a run or walk, staying active can have profound effects on your mental well-being.

I know how challenging it can be to get yourself motivated and moving when life feels tough, but if you can find just 30 minutes a day to incorporate some movement into your routine, the mood boosting benefits you'll receive will make it well worth the effort!

From a slightly groggy 6 am wake up to feeling alive, energised and on top of the world by 7 am!! That’s the magic of a Euphoria Boost workout!!

No one needs reminding of the physical benefits of exercise but sometimes we forget the hugely positive impact exercise has on our emotional wellbeing. I challenge anyone not to feel amazing after one of my workouts, or any form of exercise!

Delivering my online workouts 4 times a week is an awesome labour of love! I feel so privileged to be able to incorporate my own health and fitness into the job that I do and share this with all the wonderful Euphoria Boost members!

Quite possibly my favourite time of the day!! 6 am, pre workout coffee and complete and utter solitude and silence!!

And this from someone who pre kids was a complete and utter night owl 🦉 kind of person!!

There are literally so many benefits in getting up a little earlier and exercising and for me this one is up there at the top! And as the days draw out, and the mornings get a little lighter and I’m woken up by birdsong and the sunrise it’s only going to get better!!

Who else is with me on the early morning exercise, solitude, silence and coffee bandwagon?
