Electronic Patient Record / Digital Patient Record Community of Practice (CoP)
Friday 21 November 2025

Do you want to share good practice, understand the challenges facing those staff working on the ground (both clinical and administrative), discuss the limitations of electronic/digital systems and how that impacts day to day working, debate all the difficult stuff that is put to one side causing endless workarounds?

Then you need to join this Community of Practice hosted by the Institute of Health Records and Information Management (IHRIM) and supported by those professional bodies that are the Federation for Health Informatics Professionals in Health and Care; AphA, BCS, CHIME, CILIP and Socitm.

This CoP will meet bi-monthly for two hours on a Friday afternoon, discussing, debating and offering support and even solutions, on things that matter to you.

Who is this for? This inaugural get together is an open meeting for anyone working in health and care, NHS, private or a supplier, to scope out what matters to you. Future meetings will be for members only and suppliers will be offered a separate opportunity to interact with the Community of Practice moving forward.

The six professional bodies will tell you how they support their members when it comes to electronic/digital records at each of the stages from pre-implementation right through to implementation, post implementation and optimisation and not forgetting all the challenging areas such as managing duplicate records, merging and unmerging, deletion and statutory reporting.

🌟 New HPCA Programme Launch: Change Under Pressure🌟
HPCA has announced the upcoming launch of their Change Under Pressure Support Programme, a blended offer of free resources, low-cost training and premium organisational support.

The programme is designed to:
• Enable organisations to deliver mandated reforms cost-effectively.
• Support NHS staff through change, building resilience and transferable skills.
• Offer affordable, high-value support to the NHS.

As part of this programme, they are hosting a series of free monthly Change Resilience Webinars.

This interactive workshop will share lessons learned when supporting new programmes and projects, with practical advice on how IG can become a supportive enabler. Topics include:

The Clinical Coding Leadership Network (CCLN) has launched.

Hosted by AphA and founded by Katie Campbell ACC, TAP.dip LFEDIP and Carolyn (Caz) Cooper ACC, MBA, FCMI senior leaders, the network was created to provide a unified voice and strategic support in response to growing challenges in the field.

The mission:

Unify and elevate the voice of clinical coding leaders across healthcare sectors.

Address workforce challenges, including shortages, retention, and career development.

Prepare the profession for the future
