Running Seeds Health kick-started. Supported initiation of YOUR social running | walking | cycling community. Walking, running and cycling.

England Athletics Run Leader licensed (E-DBS, L3 First Aid, Safeguarding, Guide Runner) and British Cycling ride leader license. Running Seeds provides the opportunity to socialise and learn about your immediate area by focusing on exploration, heritage and community rather than performance. Business engagements fund voluntary community delivery (presently each commercial hour provides 2 hours voluntary). Collaboration with 3rd sector local groups/funding also desirable (at a minimal rate). Very experienced IT Consultancy background (& availabilty!) proivides deep technical skills to support the needs of any initiative setup. Starting with the rest of the Farsley Flyers tonight at Sunny Bank Mills for the torch trail walkers.

A simple loop to Woodhall this evening, with a pass-thru the secret park and the WWI Farsley memorial there. Easy footing, so simpler to chat, though next week back to Rodley to start the trails.

Leeds city centre is pretty flat and naturally so is the popular canal.

However, those of us in West Leeds intimately know the benefits (and views) of hills - hence today popping the to Beggars Hill, near Elland Road/Cross Flatts 🙂

The torch trail walkers will be starting with the rest of the Farsley Flyers club this coming Thursday (30th Oct).

Sunny Bank Mills, 6:30pm, up on the pergoda type area in Weavers Yard, opposite Amity.

If parking, please avoid parking in the (adjacent) weavers yard car park, so as to prioritise for customers to the businesses/bars. There's the higher car parks around the side or earlier/street parking.

Our lunchtime jaunt once again defying the weather forecast pessimisms, for a lovely run through the golden trees - first the Canal and then here at Burley Park.

I think if Halloween is your thing, must surely be on your list (as I'm sure some Flyers will be returning by day!).

This weekend (Sat 18th Oct) before the weather turns - walk from Rodley over to Ilkley; via Rawdon Billing, Esholt, Hollins Hall, Hawksworth, Highroyds, Mentson, Burley Moor, Twelve Apostles, Ilkley Moor.

Meet Sat 18th Oct, 9am outside Rodley Barge, LS13 1HP. Train then bus back to Rodley (£4.80 or less) - anticipate 5:30pm.

Lots of hills (The Billing is a warm-up 🙂) and plenty of trail time - about 14 miles in all. Please bring drinks and food - though bakeries enroute 😋

Free but tips very welcome as it helps to pay for equipment like torches, batteries and the new bat detector!

We're starting in Rodley again this week for the Flyers torch trail hike. 16th Oct, 6:30pm outside the Rodley Barge (LS13 1HP).

Also have a new bit of kit, though we're a bit end-of-season 🦇

The week after 23rd will be a special edition Leeds Light Night walk, but won't be posted publicly (just within Flyers) so make sure you're getting those emails or in the group.
