During the last week of October , the Yoga with Gill chair yoga classes were invited to in aid of Breast Cancer Now with all proceeds from the classes being donated to the charity alongside some very generous donations from my yogis themselves . I’m delighted to say that today I was able to donate £335 in aid if the wonderful work that Breast Cancer Now does to both raise awareness and in support of research for something that can affect any of us at any point in our lives .
Thank you ladies for all of your support … we’ve such a great wee yoga community 🙏

A huge thank you to all my yogis for a great first ‘term’ of the 25-2026 year . Great to see so many of you return year after year and to welcome all the new people to my classes in and around Turriff . I’m truly grateful for all of you choosing my classes for your yoga journey .
Speaking of journeys that’s me at the airport now on my way to the sunny Algarve for my annual week of chilling on a yoga retreat so no classes the rest of this week , but will be back with you all next week . 😎 🌞. 🙏

This popped up on my memories today … 12 years ago , on the trip sailing around Croatia which cemented my relationship with yoga which lead me to where I am now !
We were doing yoga at sunrise and sunset every day on the top deck of our boat . Each evening the boats tied up next to each other in the harbour for an overnight stop …. I can’t quite remember where this one was but as we were doing the class we realised that a group of Australian guys were trying to join in from their boat … fun class …
Classes for first 3 weeks of September : ( I’m away on my annual yoga retreat in the Algarve from 23-29th Sept )
Monday 2pm : Chair yoga at Forglen Hall
Tuesdays at 11.15 : Mat yoga at the BP community Hall
Thursday morning : 10am Chair yoga in meeting room and 11am Chair yoga in the community Hall both at the BP
Thursday evening : 7pm Mat yoga in the BP community hall .

I started practicing yoga in 2013 around the time of my 50th Birthday . Through my 20’s , 30’s and 40’s I’d done everything from the Jane Fonda workout , Reebok Step , Zumba , Metafit , CXworx, Bodypump... you name it , I’ve tried it and enjoyed them all at the time but I hadn’t stuck with any of them until I tried Yoga .
Yoga has changed the way I feel about my body and about life in general .... I sleep better, I stress less and my body feels stronger and more flexible than ever . I would often recommend yoga to work colleagues and friends and everyone who tried it would tell me how they felt the benefit. I then began to dream about how I could weave more yoga into my life and introduce more people to the benefits of yoga .
In 2018 , after 33 years of working full-time , I decided to take a break from my career and think about what I really wanted to do with my life . During this break , I completed a Yoga Alliance 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course at the Chandra School in Edinburgh and I knew that teaching Yoga was something I wanted to do going forward . I’ve since completed further training courses in Restorative and Yin Yoga . This summer I took the decision to give up my career in the corporate world and move ‘back to my roots’ in Turriff and I’ve been delighted to start teaching weekly yoga classes back here in my home town . Having now ‘ retired’ from the corporate world I’m in a position that I can now offer more classes ... either as part of a group at my classes in Turriff or privately at the small studio at home .
I believe that Yoga is for everyone regardless of age , size, gender and level of fitness. The recognised benefits are increased strength , flexibility, improved posture and balance as well as feeling more relaxed.
Currently I teach 2 weekly classes in the Baden Powell Centre and would welcome anyone to get in touch and come along to try out yoga for themselves and I will add more classes as necessary . You have nothing to lose !
The classes I teach are Gentle Flow classes and are suitable for beginners as well as those who have done yoga before .
